Well let's hear it. Are we all just looking for a "good" shepherd?

Out of context comparison. If the analogy had been conceived in the American West it would be "a good farmer" or "good rancher". Idea, of course, is simply that humans are social creatures and look to good leaders to help them make decisions.

The message of Jesus is both of forgiveness and acceptance. That if we give our hearts to God, we'll be protected as a shepherd protects their flock from predators. In this case, the predator is Satan.

No, they had other forms of live stock. A sheep was specifically chosen because if their leader jumps over a cliff, the rest follow.

You are free to believe as you wish.

It's not a belief, it is the truth.

The Hebrew people had a wide range of livestock. Goats, cattle, etc. But they chose only sheep to describe humanity. Here we have defenseless lemmings that follow authority unquestioned.

These are the facts.

You are mixing fact with your beliefs. e.g.; "A sheep was specifically chosen because if their leader jumps over a cliff, the rest follow." Your choice and your resentment for being called on it is understandable.

So you are saying that the term "sheep" was randomly selected without any thought as to the symbolism?

Ok then.

What about the goats???

Do they represent ornery people who eat any old kind of garbage?

You can choose to be guided as someone like Mother Teresa, or toss out all gudiance and refuse to be guided as someone like Josef Mengele.

Josef was but an empty uniform. Had it not been for the Nazi shepherd, we would not even know who he ever was.

The Hebrew people were described as stubborn, hence this scripture.

Hosea 4:16 (ASV) For Israel hath behaved himself stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer: now will Jehovah feed them as a lamb in a large place.

Of course, I realized I'm jumping to conclusions again, but that is just how I roll I reckon.

He would have been kidnapping locals for his experiments. The government simply gave him a lot of opportunity.

But my point stands. People who consider themselves sheep of God tend to be much better human beings than those who do not.

Well, at least you have your thinking cap on...

Jesus described people as swine, dogs, vultures, foxes, sheep, goats, wolves, and worms.

Have you ever met people whose defining attributes match perfectly the behavior of these types of creatures?

If so can you tell the difference between what flesh of which creature is kosher or not and what the subject implied by the word 'flesh' is?

You are also free to put words in the mouths of others to push your own beliefs, but as anyone who cares to read my posts, you are clearly wrong.
