New Oklahoma Law Sparks Debate Over Teaching About Tulsa Massacre

Some Oklahomans criticized Mr. Stitt’s timing in signing the bill into law just weeks before the 100-year anniversary of the massacre on Monday. Opponents say that while the law doesn’t forbid teaching students about the massacre, it is an attempt to stifle lessons that deal with unpleasant aspects of history.

I just don't understand how people think they can continue to hide the truth when there are those that are alive and won't let them?

'They were killing all the Black people': This 107-year-old still remembers Tulsa massacre

I dont understand the question??

whos trying to hide what happened??

It was a disgraceful episode in our history, as some of our other past events have been. It should be remembered. But, you can pour through the histories of many nations and find disgraceful events having occurred in them as well. It is important to point out our wrongs, but also show how we overcame them to be a better nation.
No other nation can claim that they fought a major deadly Civil War to end slavery, a war that cost approximately 360,000 northern army lives.
Has it ended racism? Obviously not. But other nations have it as well. However, despite what the left claims, we are not a systemically racist nation. If we were so racist, blacks wouldn't be in every occupation there is here, including a two term black president. Those that are in leadership roles, got there by focus and determination.

Are the critical race theory racists going to like it when parents start pointing out the obvious facts like how the 19 year black guy tried to rape the 17 year old girl, or how it was blacks that brought guns and attacked the jail first and then came back a second time killing people which lead to the whites arming themselves and going after the attackers burning down Black Wallstreet where they hid? Are we going to talk about the Hotel/gambling hall/ slum lord black businessman who grabbed and attacked a white man just a few days before out of racism and was telling everyone that he was going to pay for Tuskegee black shooters to come in and kill more people? And you wonder why Black (actually called NEGRO) Wall Street was burned down?

From the first article: The Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs, a conservative think tank, applauded the legislation. “From a government perspective, should taxpayers be required to pay the salaries of government employees to teach that whites are inherently racist or inherently privileged? I think the answer would be no,” said Jonathan Small, president of the group.

a. Beyond hearsay and speculation, it was never determined in a impartial trial by jury that there was even an attempted rape....guy stumbles into an elevator, falls on a girl who is startled....on lookers assume the worst. Remember, the supposed victim declined to press charges, but the judge did any way. And no, the first set of black men went to the jail armed to insure the defendents safety in leiu of rumor of a lynch party and the city/states history of deadly vigillante violence. No shots were fired then, as the black folk were turned away by the law, but white mobs were on the way to have their pound of flesh. the second encounter results in an unknown shot (never officially determined who fired first, then all hell breaks loose. FYI: A rumor, then a gunshot: How ‘Black Wall Street’ was decimated in the Tulsa Race Massacre

Please show us the documentation of this of the black on white assault prior to the Tulsa Massacre of which you claim. And given the DOCUMENTED history, the objective reader knows EXACTLY why Black Wall Street burned down (yes, at one time the term "negro" was preferred and considered proper....but as times change the American English translaltion of "black" took precedence.....there were shifts to "Afro-American" and "African American"..... it's a person's choice, but "negro" is a coloquial passe. Also, it's in what context that it's used.....bigoted and racist types love to use the word "negro" as a sideways dig....mind you, they NEVER call themselves "caucasians" in the same attitude .... just "white".

Just pointing out the facts of life.

Ahh, but here's the catch: Every two years or so studies by the ADL, ACLU and other such organizations state & federal document cases of "red lining" in real estate and the job market. The law that guaranteed by parents right to send me to any grade school they could afford is only 4 years older than I am. And let's not forget that Jim Crow laws officially ended in 3 parts; In 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act, in 1965, the Voting Rights Act stopped voter disenfranchisement based on race, and the Fair Housing Act of 1968, which stopped discrimination in renting and selling homes.

But this guff still goes on in small to medium levels in various states. Yes, we've come a long way...but to say everything is cool just because we don't have the extreme of pre-Civil War slavery America is misleading.

If it was, liberals wouldn't be so damn miserable all the time.
Given the content of the OP, this reply of yours is just petulant childishness. Any adult response?

Given that liberals are always miserable......go cry somewhere else.

Obviously, you've nothing of worth to offer on this thread. Adios.

The 2008 major recession was a result of the banks decided to listen to those that complained that they were discriminated against when it came to home loans. The banks, knew that those that complained couldn't afford to own a home, but let them take out home loans anyway and the 2008 recession was the result of giving people home loans that couldn't really afford them.
They borrowers, based upon their income and assets, simply weren't able to make the loan payments. It had nothing to do with their race, but the banks stupidity in listening to those that complained and the groups that vocally supported them.

Please read the following carefully and comprehensively in it's entirety at the source link, as it debunks the cornerstones of your version:

DEBUNKING THE CRA MYTH – AGAIN January 2013

One of the pernicious myths surrounding CRA is that it encouraged banks to make risky loans to low‐ and moderate‐income borrowers. This argument has been made primarily by conservative think tanks, like American Enterprise Institute, who find it convenient to include CRA in their general position against governmental intervention in the private market. But efforts to blame CRA for the most recent crisis reflect a deep misunderstanding of the scope and scale of CRA and its implementation. Indeed, the “blame the CRA” story has been refuted by industry leaders and researchers time and time again.1 Unfortunately, this narrative refuses to go away.

It didn't encourage banks to make riskier loans? What did it do?
