The Virginia Democratic nominee for governor Terry McAuliffe is dismissing "Critical Race Theory"

curriculum in VA public school as a "right-wing conspiracy" and "This is totally made up by Donald Trump"

Comment:
VA Democrats seem to be attracted to total left wing knuttjobs like McAuliffe.
Maybe they hope that McAuliffe will be a step up from their current white supremacist Democrat Governor Northam.
McAuliffe has always been lower than a sleazy used car salesman.
BTW, will AG Garland investigate Gov. Ralph Northam for racism?

There are topics you can do a cut and paste, and they'll stick. Talk about other topics and wham-o, straight to conspiracy or rubber room...

The bias is there.

I'm pretty sure it's just another case where a school decided they will teach all the traditional stuff about everything white people did in American history, just they want to use a tiny bit of extra time to say a few words about the history of blacks, too.

And the right wing media machine finds out and makes "an attempted genocide against the white race" out of it and keeps parroting totally exaggerated lies about the matter ad nauseam. As they always do in these cases.

No dummy , it’s a leftist agenda to brain wash kids and falsely rewrite history to make America look like an evil place

As I see it, public debate has been dumbed down to the extremes and then polarized beyond recognition, so that sane people saying sane, moderate things aren't heard anymore, because one side dumbs down the matter to "all whites are racists" and the other dumbs it down to "liberal racists start a genocide against the white race".

What's wrong with including the perspective of other groups that are part of America in history lessons?

Nothing but the 1619 project is false history design for revolution
Black slavery is highly taught

What exactly does the 1619 project propose?

The nucleus of it :It dismisses that America was created to ensure religious tolerance and civil liberates that were non existent in England and other places, and replaces this by saying that the earliest Americans only escaped to perpetuate slavery and benefit from it

I'm pretty sure it's just another case where a school decided they will teach all the traditional stuff about everything white people did in American history, just they want to use a tiny bit of extra time to say a few words about the history of blacks, too.

Here is the problem.
The Left should play by their own high standards if they want to have crediblity.

The elites pushing critical race theory are laughing their asses off that they have gotten away with it. Euro people explored the world and recorded their ways of living. Good or bad. It seems there is good science and bad science for us all. And that includes history.

Not sure what you're saying.

White Americans have an identity, and part of that identity is remembering certain events in your history. For centuries, they didn't care much about the events other ethnic groups considered worth remembering.

Today's America is not just white, but 15% (or something around that number) black. I say, let's all remember a few events this subgroup of Americans considers worth remembering, too.

What's wrong with that?
