Is $10 for a state ID so you can vote an undue burder?

Yes, if it's mandatory. I amounts to the Right to Vote being for sale. Birthrights are simply not for sale. At any price.

If you -really- think so...
... do you also think the same for $430 to obtain a permit to own a gun and keep it in your residence?
If not, why not?

Yes. its undue burden. The right to vote shouldn't have a permit process assigned to it. Its too important

Dont like the amount of the fee. However, its not as important to me. Since a gun can kill someone I dont have a problem with a permit process to keep track of the gun.

Everything else is free, voter photo ID should be too.

Just bring birth certificate to any welfare outlet, take a picture and have it mailed to you.

That would be no burden on anyone, and relatively inexpensive to the government because most people already have plenty of ID.

Good to see you only worry about rights that are important to you.
On what basis do you pick and choose your outrage?

Wait til people find out they need a real ID Or passport to fly

Flying is not a right. Its a privilege like driving. There are lots of people that never have flown or will ever fly.
Can quarentee it will play out on same lines. Ya don't need ID to ride the bus

Who told you I was outraged about anything? You must not have liked my answer. You always start making things up when that happens.

You pick and choose your exception to the restriction on the exercise of rights.
On what basis?

Think of the millions in "enhanced revenue" if every one of Obama's amnestey aliens had to pay even a single buck to register to vote!

Paying the buck to vote? That's definitely wrong!
But so is non-citizen voting.

Since Obama adores the second, they why not the first?

Danger to the public and the significance of the restriction mostly. If someone said I had to have a gun inspection every month I would be upset. Saying they require a permit for guns is an inconvenience i'd rather not have but no where near as important as voting.

Except you don't have a right to vote. You do have a right to own a gun.

So I am curious how it is you consider a $10 fee to exercise a non-existent right a burden, but not a $30 fee for a background check to exercise a right actually enshrouded in the Bill of Rights.

The right to participate in Public Life should include agreement to identify one's self as a member in good standing, eligible to participate.

That means a proper ID, to obtain a Library Card, a Voter ID, a Passport, a License of any kind, a real estate purchase or rental transaction, etc.

It's time to cut through all the bullshit and to require a proper ID for anyone claiming to be an eligible voter.

Despite all the whiny-bitch excuse-making in the world, there is no excuse for not getting one.

I'm sure there are a few exceptions, like medically incapacitated or incompetent folks, but such exceptions can probably be pared-down to one-half-of-one-percent (-ish) of the population.

I'd consider shooting someone in order to save my own life a hell of a lot more important than casting a vote at the ballot box. After all, if I'm dead I can't vote.
