I remember listening to a radio show several years back where an expert on Iran was being interviewed. She said that it was overheard one of the higher-ups in the Iranian government saying that once they go nuclear, the Israel problem will be over. Do they think the 12th Imam is going to appear if they destroy Israel?

Iranian Official: We Planned to Destroy Israel

A former Iranian government official confirmed last week that Israel was right to take seriously the Islamic Republic’s threats to wipe the Jewish state off the map.

Speaking on Syrian News TV on December 11, former presidential advisor Mohammad Sadeq Al-Hosseini suggested that the main motivator behind the recent Iran nuclear deal was US President Barack Obama’s desire to forestall the destruction of Israel.

"the Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time."[82] Juan Cole, historian of the Middle East and South Asia, concurs; Ahmadinejad's statement should be translated as, "the Imam said that this regime occupying Jerusalem (een rezhim-e eshghalgar-e qods) must [vanish from] the page of time (bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad)," noting that there is no Persian idiom to wipe something off the map.[83] Shiraz Dossa, a professor of Political Science at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada, also believes the text is a mistranslation.[84]

Ahmadinejad was quoting the Ayatollah Khomeini in the specific speech under discussion: what he said was that "the occupation regime over Jerusalem should vanish from the page of time." No state action is envisaged in this lament; it denotes a spiritual wish, whereas the erroneous translation – "wipe Israel off the map" – suggests a military threat. There is a huge chasm between the correct and the incorrect translations. The notion that Iran can "wipe out" U.S.-backed, nuclear-armed Israel is ludicrous.

Isn't it strange, Joey, that ex Iranians had interpreted the message another way? I guess there must be several dialects of Farsi where you believe it was said one way, and other ex Iranians have interpreted it another way.

Why do you reply to my post if I am on your ignore list, Man?

How many more decades will it take Iran to build a nuke?

They may be months away now. And what does Obama do? Agree to lift sanctions.

Exactly. Lift sanctions quickly...who cares about nuclear Iran.....and go for holidays to Hawaii ... gotta go to holidays, gotta play golf...that's the main reason he was elected President of USA!

Lord have mercy on us all! :(

It has taken longer for Iran to develop a nuke weapon than it did the US. Yet we had no knowledge to fall back on while creating the atom bomb.
maybe they don't have a nukes, just like Iraq.

This is what he actually said...

Which was in the context if Iran was attacked by Israel (or the US).

So no, he didn't say Iran intends to destroy Israel.

He was saying what Iran would do if attacked by Israel.

ever wonder what 70 year old jewish pussy smells like? =depends

But, Joey, as anti-Semitic as you are, I doubt that any Jewish woman would have anything to do with you. Must have been a woman from some other group you smelled, maybe when you did Muta on the weekend and paid her fifty cents.
