Insider attacks continue across Afghanistan and it’s hard not to see these events as a huge challenge to both the relationship between ISAF and GIRoA as well as a significant challenge to the development and capacity of the ANSF (AP). Over the course of the year ISAF has moved away from referring to these attacks as “Green on Blue” and instead has settled on the phrase “insider attacks” (LWJ). Some reports on the relationship between the US and their ANSF counterparts have pointed at a deep and troubling difference in cultural compatibility as one of the contributing factor to these incidents (GWU).
