Inconvenient truth s on EV's

Lol....even if you're not a football fan, is that Brandon Jacobs vid not the funniest shit ever? You can't not crack up....and it so thoroughly depicts what skeptics do to the warmers in here on an hourly basis.

Can there possibly be a better analogy vid? I haven't found it yet! :backpedal: :backpedal::eusa_dance:

EVs are the future. Suck it up, snowflake.

The problem with Electric Vehicles is that it is actually anti-environmental in the long run. The material resources to produce the batteries for Electric Vehicles is finite and requires mining to obtain. For instance, in Chile, the lithium mining uses nearly 65% of the water in the country's Salar de Atamaca region, thus causing ground water depletion and pollution. If one looks at the locations of the materials needed for the batteries and the problems associated with obtaining them, it becomes clear that going to Electric Vehicles is not pro-environment.
That said, fossil fuel transportation is also anti-environment. As it stands today, our transportation needs can't be met with solar either.
The best solution for automobiles and aircraft is really Hydrogen Fuel celled vehicles. Hydrogen is every bit as efficient as gasoline powered vehicles, far less expensive than gasoline and as the industry has worked out the problems with the Hydrogen volatility, we must create Hydrogen fuel cell filling stations and vehicles. Their only emission is water vapor.
As for the overall "climate-change" issue, perhaps we should discuss with scientists who advocate terra-forming Mars and instead, point them to first start with terra-forming our own planet and thus see what can be done.

All energy transactions have certain unavoidable parameters that cannot be ignored. Lefty keeps trying to find the magic carpet that has no input cost but it simply does not exist. All energy transactions require that something must change form. No matter how many layers you put between yourself and the change the change must take place or energy will not be expended. No energy expenditure means no motion, no transportation, no accomplishment.

How are Tesla cars getting cheaper when the prices are increasing? Are you really an idiot? This is from your own link...

March 9 (Reuters) - Electric-car maker Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) on Wednesday raised prices of its U.S. Model Y SUVs and Model 3 Long Range sedans by $1,000 each and some China-made Model 3 and Model Y vehicles by 10,000 yuan ($1,582.40), according to its website.

The company increased prices for the most affordable versions of Model 3 and Model Y about a dozen times last year in the United States, according to data tracked by Reuters.
Oh yeah, boys are girls and girls are boys, innocent babies are murdered and criminals with a rap sheet a mile long are allowed to live, that is your science....The world is upside down.

My link was to a USA Today article, not Reuters. In its entirety, it states:

Tesla slashed prices in the U.S. again as the electric vehicle maker seeks to boost demand.

The auto manufacturer cut prices between 2% to nearly 6%, with the largest cuts on Tesla's more expensive Model S and Model X vehicles, according to the company's website as of Friday.

The price cuts come after Tesla said it delivered a record 422,875 vehicles worldwide in its first quarter after previous rounds of price cuts. Tesla trimmed the prices of its Model S and Model X vehicles in early March. And in January, Tesla slashed prices by as much as 20% in the U.S., allowing some of its cars to qualify for a federal electric vehicle tax credit.

What does a Tesla vehicle cost?

Tesla cut the prices of its slower-selling Model S and Model X vehicles by $5,000 to $84,990 and $94,990, respectively. Last month, the automaker slashed the models' prices between 4% and 9%.

The company also trimmed the costs of its more affordable Model 3 and Model Y vehicles by $1,000 and $2,000, respectively.

Here are the current prices for Tesla vehicles:

  • Model S: $84,990
  • Model S Plaid: $104,990
  • Model 3: $41,990
  • Model 3 Performance: $52,990
  • Model X: $94,990
  • Model X Plaid: $104,990
  • Model Y Long Range: $52,990
  • Model Y Performance: $56,990
So either you have made a silly mistake or you are intentionally lying.

A Smart person (like Me) would look this up Realizing this was a RW BLOG Talking point, and while the bill was correct, it's NOT REMOTELY REPRESENTATIVE.
First up on my search?
SNOPES, OF COURSE!

"...The Back the Truck Up blog reported that it was the first website to confirm the authenticity of the estimate, publishing that it was priced for a 2012 Chevy Volt. This meant that the car was more than a decade old. General Motors (GM) discontinued the line of Volt vehicles in 2019.

The Volt and other hybrid vehicles function with two batteries. The part that was quoted for replacement was the more expensive one: the hybrid battery. Before labor and other costs, the hybrid battery was listed in the estimate as costing $26,853.99.

Currently, most hybrid batteries cost around $2,000 to $8,000 and can last up to 15 years or between 100,000 and 150,000 miles. The other battery in hybrid vehicles is a more standard one that powers the vehicle's electronics. It typically costs far less.

By phone, a spokesperson for Roger Dean Chevrolet told us that the replacement hybrid battery that was quoted in the estimate was not manufactured by GM and was provided for the discontinued Volt by a third-party supplier."..."

Idiots like you will end up stuck on the side of the road because your EV ran out of juice long before you got to a charging station, or worse, a rolling black out happened and you have to choose between keeping your refrigerator on or charge you car....

What do you think those restrictions are going to do to all those charging stations, you freak?

No, it'ss pretty representative of green tech, the whole thing is a scam to make a buck. One day or other, a person will be inconvenienced.

Whether it is by a repair bill, lack of a charging station or limited range, or having one's battery be sapped of a charge while stuck in traffic jam in a sub-zero conditions while trying to stay warm?

Yeah, these are disasters waiting to happen.
