something like. "The people of the USA recognize that Robert E Lee fought in in a
campaign that supported the scourge of chattel slavery of black americans" REAL
HISTORY. The plaques could also include his real contributions to the USA military.

well said. great idea. i'm sure they would like to scrub museums, the smithsonian, the library of congress that jefferson started, a man who fathered his own slaves.
