/——/ Actually you didn’t refute the link saying you can’t compare us mortality rates to the rest of the world.

Actually, I did. You were just way too stupid to understand. This is the kind of brain damage you get when you listen to the Corporate Propaganda on Hate Radio all day.

Blaming our healthcare system when babies born of drug abusers don't survive, seems silly.

Um, okay, let's look at this stupidity. Most countries treat drug addiction like a medical problem, and people get treatment.

We treat it like a criminal problem to feed the Prison-Industrial Complex, and they don't.

Um, yeah, I think we can blame our system for that.

But, hey, they are only little darkies, so who cares?

You obviously don't.

And using preemies born 4 months early in our stats when some foreign nations exclude babies
that die within a few days of birth.....means you can't compare stats....honestly.

Well, you have a point there... because poor people can't get prenatal care, we have a higher rate of premature births... but again, they are only darkies...

But the reality is, most countries count them the same way we do, and guess what, we still do worse. A lot worse.

Absolutely. If you make sick people wait 6-9 months and then give them sub-optimal care,
we could cover lots more people.

Except that again, they have better stats than we do.

sure man, have whatever wank fantasies you want...

Doesn't solve the problem of we spend more than any other country in the world and we get the worst results.

Highest infant mortality rate in the industrialized world.
Lowest life expectancy in the Industrialized world.
Spend twice per capita what other countries spend.
62% of bankruptcies linked to medical crisis
25% of Americans without coverage or adequate insurance.

Um, no, guy. Market fairies are not going to fix these problems.

Here's the thing. If I have something that will save your life, I can pretty much charge you whatever I want for it, because otherwise, you'll die.

The Market is what is making this worse, not better.

Taking away redress when medical personnel fuck it up and make you worse is not going to improve the quality of medical care.

96,000 Americans die every year because of mistakes made by their medical providers. It would be a lot worse if they weren't afraid of lawsuits.

Why do have to purchase car insurance then. WHere were you on that? Go to jail and get fined for that!

th

We don't licence people to live.

:1peleas:

It is being forced by law to purchase, justy like health care. Either you should not be forced by law to make a purchase or not.

Then let's force everyone to purchase car insurance also or be fined/taxed by the government so the cost is driven down. After all there's always that possibility that the person who doesn't own a car may need to drive.

*****SMILE*****

:)

Simple question is being forced to buy wrong or not. I guess it is only wrong when you say it is!

Being forced to do anything is always wrong. However...

No one's forcing you to purchase car insurance unless you purchase a car.

Are we now forcing people to purchase a license to live?

You are correct.

Under Obamacare (mistakenly referred to as the Affordable Care Act), everyone had to purchase health insurance. There is no such requirement for car insurance. If you don't own a car and do not drive, there is no reason for you to purchase car insurance. Furthermore, most states do not require drivers to have car insurance. These states merely require drivers to demonstrate financially responsibility and although having having car insurance is the easiest way to do this there are other options. Many states allow drivers to post a cash bond in lieu of purchasing insurance. Here is a list of such states (note: this list was published in August of 2015):

States Where You Might Not Have to Get Car Insurance

Still other states, including Florida where I live, allow drivers to avoid car insurance by proving they have sufficient net worth to meet minimum legal obligations. In these states no cash bond is required..

Official Website Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles

The government does not require drivers to purchase car insurance to protect their own property from damage; it only requires them to be financially responsible for injury to others and their property. This can be accomplished by purchasing car insurance but other methods are also available. This makes sense because it protects innocent parties from damage caused by others. .

The health care mandate does not make sense. It is wrong to require a person to purchase a product they do not need merely to reduce the cost to others.

America has more premature births.
Mostly because other countries don't count the preemies who die quickly.

Except that again, they have better stats than we do.

Yup. Based on their honesty about births, I knew you'd say that.

America has more premature births.
Mostly because other countries don't count the preemies who die quickly.

Or because they have paid maternity leave and pre-natal care and they aren't dropping the kids early.

Also, not enough preemies to really nudge the numbers in any case.

When you count ours and ignore theirs, how many do you need?

Yawn... you guys can try to pretend out stats here don't totally suck all day..

But they totally suck.

American Babies Are Less Likely to Survive Their First Year Than Babies in Other Rich Countries

The reasons the U.S. has fallen behind include higher poverty rates relative to other developed countries and a relatively weak social safety net, says lead author Ashish Thakrar, medical resident at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System.

“The poorer children are, the worse their health outcomes are,” says Thakrar, whose team found that poverty among U.S. children has been higher than in the 19 comparable OECD countries since the mid 1980s.

Premature delivery and low birthweight have been consistently associated with poverty, which affects over 20% of U.S. children, the second highest percent among 35 developed nations, according to a 2013 United Nations Children’s Fund report.
