It is very likely that Martin Luther King Jr. as a black minister of the 1950s would not have supported the gay lifestyle or gay marriage, so he was obviously a bigot.....should we tear down his statues, strip schools of his name, and wipe him from the history books?

Agree with your point. we're going down a very slippery slope. It's not good.

If his statues were put there to honor his work against the LBGT community, I would agree with you. Take down the statues, and strip the schools of his name. Fortunately, that is not what he is honored for. If those confederate statues were to honor those people for anything other than fighting to maintain slavery, I would want them kept up too. It's all about what the statue honors them for.

How many slaves did MLK own?

The confederacy was a terrorist organization

I think this is a question you should answer and explain. Yanno, debate it.

What side do you take?

No, that is not the question. The question is why is he, or anyone else honored? MLK did a lot of good for this country, and he is honored for that. Confederate solders fought to allow some men to own others as if they were cattle. Buy, sell, breed, abuse, or kill them as they wish with full support of the law. That is what they are being honored for and the only reason there are statues of them. Those things are not deserving of honor. They should be moved to private property of someone who agrees with what they did.

And do you really think that left wing social justice warriors are going to stop at that? That they won't eventually go after a conservative minister, no matter what he did to advance Civil Rights against the democrats who tried to keep blacks from getting Civil Rights?

That's your problem. You build all these imaginary scenarios in your head, and then behave as if they really happened.

The democrat party created Jim Crow laws, and had the kkk as it's terrorist arm.......

Go read some wikipedia at least about 1960's elections before you keep posting this. You are too well read to keep doing so!

Few people here have some allegiance to the 1956 Democrats like they were angels we must worship.

Folks are gonna come quote these threads on you in topics about the South and wonder where your anger is.
