Well, the evacuations here in certain parts of St. Johns County go into effect tomorrow at 6:00am:

St. Johns Evacuations

St. Johns County Emergency management officials have announced an evacuation for coastal areas of St. Johns County. This includes Zone A, Zone B and Zone F South of County Road 214 starting at 6 a.m. tomorrow.

These zones include the entire city of St. Augustine and Anastasia Island. This includes people who live in boats, RVS and mobile homes.

Officials say once you leave the barrier islands, the roads may close and it may become difficult to come back.

If you are able to leave today, officials encourage you to leave today.

We've got the hurricane shutters up on the Ponte Vedra house, and will be staying at our home a bit more inland, away from the expected storm surge.

We've got plenty of food, water, Gatorade, Pedialyte, gasoline and three generators. We've also got propane for the grill so we can cook any of the food we might otherwise lose should we lose power and things start to defrost.

The cars and bikes have been moved to a warehouse waaaaay inland. The building easily withstands a category 5 hurricane, and there are no trees around it to fall into it. We've also moved the bikes and cars of friends into the warehouse, as well.

I've already been on the horn doing a pre-emptive strike on the Ponte Vedra house with my insurance agent.

We've been through worse than this one, so we're not too concerned. It's always good to be vigilant, though, so that's where we are...

Good opportunity for Gov. DeSantis to evacuate as many Illegals as possible to MV or other liberal areas not in the storm's path.

Watch it be a nothingburger. OP is better off than me.
No generator, I got wood, a grill, bathtub full of water, food n water, Kerosene lamps, flashlights n stuff.

For the fridges this time I have 2-liters filled with water and frozen solid. You work it like an ice box.

Last time I bought 8 bags of ice and nothing went bad or even defrosted with the power out for 6 days.

Strategically placed vehicles in the yard to not get hit by trees, hopefully.

I've been through 15 hurricanes, it's gonna be what it will. You can't stop it.

Apparently you don't know the definition of "socialism", falsely equating it with Christian charity.

Socialism is the idea of telling other people what to do and to waive you authority at them as something they should respect.

Caring and sharing is actually part of the Free Market system.

Which has nothing, really, to do with being Christian and everything to do with not being a dick...

Sounds like a good plan. Stay safe.

When you think about the illegal alien rabble that managed to cross the border are having an easier time of it in the hands of federal officers than the evacuees from Ian who are on their own and struggling for shelter.

Lucky you've got insurance. Make sure it's valid.

There's probably a zero chance of getting a motel room within a hundred miles of the coast of Florida. Elderly folks maybe with a pet are stuck in their cars and middle class folks with a bunch of kids are struggling on the road also. In the mean time junkies and homeless rabble and illegals are enjoying motel rooms in liberal states.
