I spent about 3 weeks in Bahrain in the late 70's- I wasn't into politics at the time, but, I will say there was a lot of discrimination on display- (I can give a specific, personal anecdote if asked), but, I never saw one woman whose face wasn't covered- seeing her (she's pretty!)
