PT , pain injections , drugs don’t work and our BS

I read a disk replacement is my last option for chronic back pain

This will be my top goal this summer

I have pain in right lower back and pain in my left butt

I was doing mma before this BS and had potential

I also read that Germany is the leader in back surgery and has technology several years a head of America and is far cheaper

Maybe a trip to Germany will finally end all of my pain

Who has made this diagnosis?
You or a specialist ?
Have you the X-rays ?

I had a mri last spring and 2 of my disks looked like smushed bagels 🥯
Can only chat about what I did in similar circumstances a good few years ago and as a result of playing sports at a very OK level but without the benefit of good maintenance protocols .
My experiences and full diagnosis might not be relevant enough to your situation even though I had significant cartilage erosion but was also suffering from trapped nerves as part of my overall condition .Lumbar problems were L1,2,3,4 and5.

In general terms I now have the highest regard for top Osteopaths and Chiropractors
But find the best . Using other people's experiences whom you have high regard for in terms of them being honest with you and who have shown themselves to be sound and reliable when making key judgements and decisions .
I found brilliant professionals and have never had to ask for invasive treatments other than when I once used epidural injections which were great for a few weeks but no longer. Others might have benefitted more -- luck of the draw plus individual differences of problems
But avoid surgery almost at any price , imho , until you have researched every other option and found out true success rates for the specific surgical procedure that is being offered you .
Good luck .

Disk replacement is an EXTREME last resort. I had really bad nerve pain going down my leg, but they fixed it by boring out the disk so it wasnt squishing the nerve. They just make a little tunnel for the nerve to sit in, rather than being squished between two disks. Its a minimally invasive surgery as far as spinal surgery goes.

OK, so you have what i had. You dont need to replace the disk. You need what is called a "discectomy". I have virtually no nerve pain in my leg anymore after getting that procedure.
I don’t have any pain in my leg

My situation is so complex

The only way Germany would be cheaper is if you dont have insurance. And you not being a German citizen you wont be able to take advantage of their socialized medicine.
And you have to consider that all back surgeries dont work,in fact they can make things worse.
And of course you'd have to spend a lot of time in Germany until you were fully healed, even longer if there are complications.
