Rand was an ardent atheist.

That is why Reagan annoyed her.

Rand had no empathy for the poor, for example, and somehow is oblivious to the fact that the concept of natural rights is based upon God given rights man tries to take away from them.

Most conservatives do care about the poor and believe in God, however. In fact, those who give most of their time and money to the poor are those who practice their faith and are the backbone of conservatism.
