I saw this guy interviewed tonight, and he presented a very frightening picture, which has been borne out by trump's actions in office. We have to take his authoritarianism seriously for all our sake's. Using the military to chase protesters out of Lafayette Park just for a cheap photo op and then sending anonymous feds to Portland, made what trump is trying to do glaringly obvious even to the most obtuse. But before that, there was a whole lot of tearing up subpoenas, forbidding people to testify and other attempts to keep his actions secret from the American People, failing to honor the system of checks and balances, and much more. He is dangerous.

You are a joke. You advocate forcing people to wear muzzles contaminated with bacteria for hours on end, for nearly a year now, and closing down bars and restaurants and turning schools in to near prison camps, and you want to talk about oppression?

You are quite correct, the RWNJs will never acknowledge how close the cheeto-in-chief, with the help of congressional Republicans AND Democrats came to ending the shaky Democracy that exists today in the United States. (Although, ousting trump from the White House has shored-up its foundations a small amount.)

The "Will-of-the-people" is rarely represented by the a$$holes the ruling billionaire class finance to be our "choices" for representation in the federal government, and this is also true for key positions in state governments.

Conservatism requires only that politicians tap into the fears and hatreds of the right-wing and centrist voters. That is the strategy the GOP has employed, successfully, for fifty years. The a$$hole trump took that strategy and pumped it up, turning that fear, and especially the hatred in right-wingers and centrists into a weapon against a democratic government, so weakened by money flooding into it from the ruling billionaire class, trump believed he could push it into a dictatorship with just a little shove.

Had it not been for trump's inspiring words to "set your racial hatred free" to his legions of supporters, police, nationwide, might not have set out on their spree to murder unarmed African-Americans. All of which, were justifiable in the minds it the millions of devoted fanatics in the trump cult.

Fortunately, they were not justifiable to the rest of the U.S. population, and sparked the BLM protests. It is those protests, and the government's unconstitutional responses, that proved to many fence-sitting voters this would be the last presidential election in the United States if wannabe dictator trump were permitted to remain in the White House.

Due to the illegal involvement of outside forces on the 2016 Presidential Election, the 2020 Presidential Election was the most closely supervised election in this country than anytime in history. All inspired by the cheeto-in-chief's worries the polls would be rigged so he would lose. What little voter fraud was discovered was in favor of the cheeto-in-chief. Other mistakes were found, and corrected. None of which changed the outcome. Biden won, both the popular vote, and the electoral votes necessary.

This is not to say Democracy in the United States is safe, there remain way, way too many corrupted congress members in office, both Democrats and Republicans who have sold their loyalty to the highest bidder.

In the past Republicans were always split on a lot of issues. A great example is the corporate Republicans and the racist republicans disagree on illegal aliens. Back when Bush/McCain and Romney were saying they were only here doing jobs Americans won't do, a lot of Republican voters knew that was bullshit but still they voted GOP because they've been convinced Democrats are socialists who want to take your guns away and discriminate against straight white men. So they held their nose and voted for Bush/McCain and Romney. Better than Hillary they said.

Trump was the only Republican leader to actually champion going after illegals. Sanctuary cities! Build a wall he said! But that won't fix the problem because the real problem we have is illegal employers. Illegal workers will continue to come to America so long as we have corporations willing to hire them. And then when they get caught say they gave them fake documents. But we all know they knew they were being given fake documents. Let's be honest. Companies with a lot of illegal workers know those are illegal workers.
