Said it on CNBC...

Gallup CEO Jim Clifton told CNBC he might “suddenly disappear” for telling the truth about the Obama unemployment rate.

The real Obama unemployment rate has never recovered and is still above 10%.

Wall Street on Parade reported:

Years of unending news stories on U.S. government programs ofsurveillance, rendition and torture have apparently chilled the speech of even top business executives in the United States.

Yesterday, Jim Clifton, the Chairman and CEO of Gallup, an iconic U.S. company dating back to 1935, told CNBC that he was worried he might “suddenly disappear” and not make it home that evening if he disputed the accuracy of what the U.S. government is reporting as unemployed Americans.

The CNBC interview came one day after Clifton had penned a gutsy opinion piece on Gallup’s web site, defiantly calling the government’s 5.6 percent unemployment figure “The Big Lie” in the article’s headline. His appearance on CNBC was apparently to walk back the “lie” part of the title and reframe the jobs data as just hopelessly deceptive.

Clifton stated the following on CNBC:

“I think that the number that comes out of BLS [Bureau of Labor Statistics] and the Department of Labor is very, very accurate. I need to make that very, very clear so that I don’t suddenly disappear. I need to make it home tonight.”

After getting that out of the way, Clifton went on to eviscerate the legitimacy of the cheerful spin given to the unemployment data, telling CNBC viewers that the percent of full time jobs in this country as a percent of the adult population “is the worst it’s been in 30 years.”

If I haven't disappeared in the past 10 years, you're safe. Believe me, I've beat the government into the ground, and still do it every single day.

There were 5.0 million job openings on the last business day of November, little changed from 4.8
million in October, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Hires (5.0 million) were little
changed and separations (4.6 million) declined in November. Within separations, the quits rate (1.9
percent) was unchanged and the layoffs and discharges rate (1.2 percent) was little changed. This release
includes estimates of the number and rate of job openings, hires, and separations for the nonfarm sector
by industry and by four geographic regions.

This is why business wants immigrants. They need skilled and knowledgeable workers. You know you aren't getting that with Jethro Bodine and Ellie Mae Clampet.

Obama want's to reduce that number by making education available to all Americans. Republicans don't want that to happen because they are afraid they won't be able to cry about Obama. Besides, Republicans don't want to compete because they don't have what it takes. Education is something they refuse to learn. It shatters their delusional little bizarro world.

How many of those jobs were living wage full time jobs? How many got jobs that allowed them to be self-supporting? How many of those jobs came with employer paid benefits? How many workers that had already given up looking for work, re-entered the work force? How many workers did we take off government assistance programs? Did all of those jobs cover all education and skill levels? How many jobs were off-shore out-sourced in the past year? How many workers did we import in the past year? How many illegal immigrants are working in this country? How many plants and factories have we re-opened? Think, think, think.

If you don't have any education, it doesn't matter. You aren't qualified. In fact, it seems about the only thing the non educated are qualified for is Republican leadership positions.

Between Robots and additive manufacture increased output no longer necessarily results in increased employment and/ wages, which is another major problem.

Yet, you and the family are still living out of your car. I don't know how they will educate those young thugs out on the street selling drugs and shooting each other when they don't want and education.

Yep, he's right on two counts and maybe even more.
The unemployment numbers are a joke and there's also the torture and surveillance thing too.
But then he could of said the same thing 10 years ago, when the same approach was used with the unemployment numbers and of course our government was torturing and conducting secret surveillance on US citizens too.
It's pretty disgusting.

FYI - Education is not the only factor. How many college grads are living with parents and flipping burger for a living? Oh, it matters, it matters a lot. Even if everyone was educated, we still don't have enough living wage jobs to meet the demand.

Even with automation, innovation, and technology, people still need to make a living. We still have to have self-supporting opportunities available for our growing work force.

And it is likely to get worse over time, as technology eliminates more and more jobs. This will lead to large numbers of Americans unemployed for life, unless we do something about our failing educational system...which seems most unlikely.

Lots of dependent Americans, make good voters for the unlimited State.

Technology, automation, and innovation is not the only problem with the jobs market. Many factors come into play. What about off-shore job out-sourcing, importing labor, and the millions of illegal immigrants living and working in this country? What about our unfair, unjust, and one-sided foreign trade agreements and policies? What about our import dependency?

Gallup is still butthurt that it had to pay millions in fines for misleading customers.

Gallup Organization has agreed to pay the government $10.5 million to settle a false claims case against the company for allegedly inflating cost estimates in government contracts.

The Justice Department announced the settlement Monday, resolving a complaint originally brought under the Whistleblower Protection Act by a former Gallup director of client services.
