I started hunting when I was 15 years old. I loved getting out in the woods, and still do. I enjoyed the hunt. I just never enjoyed the killing.

One of the guys in my shop is showing his 2 yr old son movies online about animals stalking and killing their game hoping that the kid becomes the avid hunter that he is. I'm not sure this is a good idea. He's one of those guys that comes to work talking about a kill. I consider these guys wannabes who never had been in a firefight. Being bloodthirsty and gun-happy doesn't make you a warrior. There was a time when I was in the Army I would have killed without a second thought. Those days are long gone. Back then it was a matter of survival.

I love guns with a passion. I enjoy target practice and going to the range. Guns are important in America. If I had to hunt for food I would have to deal with it, but I would never enjoy it. Some hunters will shoot anything that moves. I just enjoy watching wild game. I prefer beef or Buffalo to venison. Just never liked the taste. I don't like fish. It never agreed with me....but I enjoy fishing.....and releasing.
My favorite pastime in the woods is looking for Morels and Ginsing Roots. Sometimes I've found Yellow Root patches. I use a gun for protection only. I will not kill something just for fun.

People who live along our Southern borders need guns. Without them they would be dead, plain and simple. The war that's going on South of our border is real and it will become part of our lives if the Democrats are allowed to take away our rights. I purchased 500 rds of ammunition online last year and for some reason the order was cancelled after the election. You cannot get some types of ammo at all anymore. This is only the first phase of the Biden Administrations war on guns. People on our Northern borders need guns to protect their horses and cattle from wolves and Mountain Lions. They'd be reduced to the Stone Age without them.

I am not a hunter either. Not into killing fury animals. I am into eating them though.

If you like being in the woods, but not killing the critters, perhaps a camera should be your weapon of choice while hunting.

I've only shot one squirrel as a hunter. I never saw anything else. I sucked.

But I've shot numerous nutria, beaver, opossum and skunks as nuisance animals around my house and my parents camp.

I used to bring a camera....but now....I just enjoy the exercise. You have to spend time in the woods to appreciate it. Spend the night or a week. Sleeping on the ground makes you appreciate a nice bed....but in some parts of the country...it is great. During the Summer in Montana...it's great.

I liked hunting when I was a kid, coyotes and rabbits- I've never deer hunted. I can't see shooting an innocent animal that doesn't even know you exist from a couple hundred yards away- I could shoot a human because humans aren't innocent- don't believe me- fuck with one of my kids- it's called without compunction, up close and personal, right between the eyes.

Did you have any beagles to help you hunt those rabbits?

I'm no hunter, and living as I do in the suburbs of a major American city, I am in no danger from the happy forest animals that roam my neighborhood freely at night.

The humans, on the other hand ... you just can't tell.

I don' eat meat at all anymore but I still have guns.

I have more handguns than long guns though. In fact i never owned a rifle until I moved out of the city

No sir. I had a beagle after I got married though- we got her because my oldest son wanted a little sister and we had a little brother instead so we got a female beagle- she was a sweetheart too, named her Sissy

If you learn how to shoot a pistol...it will make you more accurate with a rifle.
Shooting a pistol is much more difficult.
A rifle is a huge advantage over pistols. Anything outside of 50 yds is rough when it comes to pistols. Most shots are usually inside of 11 yds in real life. Cops should all be carrying slung automatic rifles with a pistol as a secondary. Pistols are a disadvantage and practically ineffective most of the time.

I used to feel that way....but now I don't want to shoot anyone or anything other than a target.

We have a Second Amendment and should have no security problems in our free States. Don't grab guns, grab gun lovers and Regulate them Well!

And, abolish right wingers useless drug war! They are brave enough not to need it since they are brave enough to go maskless during a pandemic. Prohibition has never worked in the history of our Republic.

Thank you blues man. I have some people say some pretty nasty things about me who have no problem sitting at a restaurant and eating a steak. Be glad there are people out there willing to do your dirty work for you. I appreciate that you understand what it takes to put meat on the table. The people that do the dirty work deserve some respect. This is why I love Mike Roe. There are dirty jobs out there but some one has to do them I hope people keep that in mind when they deal with farmers, burchers, plumbers and the like.

I stopped eating meat partly because I think factory farming is cruel and I want nothing to do with the pain and suffering inflicted upon animals

Well at least you are not a hypocrite. I eat meat and make no opologie for it. I am not a factory farmer but yes I slaughter animals for food.

Yes, and I don't have a problem with people killing and eating animals. I would just rather not be the one doing the killing.

I bet i can find an instance where you do mind the killing and eating of animals.

Would you eat dog burgers from dogs slaughtered at a dog meat factory? How about cat jerkey?

Since I've eaten Chinese takeout, I may have already done so; however, dog meet is not on my list of things to try.
