On this, I agree. All the NTA is really good for is a cool commercial or two every few years and a speech at CPAC. I have to say though, Lapierre did a decent speech today.

Yes it was. Because help me out here. Is the Automobile Association of America responsible for DUI drivers? Why don’t we blame the immigrant defense project when an illegal immigrant commits a crime? Do we blame the Sports Car clubs when some dolt drives his Ferrari at Mach 1?

No. We put the blame for those actions squarely where it belongs. On the person who committed the wrong. On the individual. If you ran out and tried to blame the Girl Scouts for porn you would be dismissed as a nut. But blame a group who defends the rights outlined in the constitution and you are a hero.

This has happened before. When organizations went to the south to register blacks for the vote they were denounced and the organization’s were called evil by morons. History rightly denounced the idiots who fight to deny civil rights. Why should my civil rights be threatened? Why should I roll over?

maybe 50 years ago it was different, but not now

I am skeptical of the NRA, but what do you have against the arms industry?
All the bad guys already have arms, like the drug gangs, mafia, corrupt police, the military invading innocent countries, etc., so that how are honest people supposed to survive or defend themselves, with guns?
Its not like you can take away the guns from the bad guys, and even if you could, since they are stronger, in gangs, and more physically trained for violence, then honest people being armed the only possible solution.
So then clearly the arms makers are the good guys as well.

It is brilliant. When liberals want to limit the rights of millions of Americans over the action of one individual...an individual who was reported to the FBI as a possible school shooter. A guy who had the police at his home 39 times.

Six million Americans legally own Ar15 type rifles. One guys actions does not justify this response. Just like if one Everclear drinking drunk driver killed 17 kids, that wouldn't justify outlawing 100+ proof whiskey. And just like outlawing 100+ proof whiskey would do nothing to stop drunk drivers, a new AWB will do absolutely nothing to stop school shootings...it will only accomplish a goal of the liberal left.
