How will the unemployment rate affect the election?

6.6 million Americans applied for unemployment. Trump no longer have the Obama's economy to claim his own. What will Trump brag about during the election do you think?
It shouldn't since most of these numbers are not Trump's fault....

But at the end of the day -- it won't matter....Biden HAS ZERO chance to win

and you're comparing apples to oranges. Trump, nor his policies impacted unemployment numbers.........it is due to this virus that people are not currently working and in the attempt to care for their families, they are going for unemployment benefits. But most people realize this

Obama had nothing to do with the high UE rate from the recession that started before he even won the nomination, yet he is always blamed for it...that sort of goes hand in hand with being POTUS...as the old saying goes "its the economy stupid"

How much this impacts the election depend 100% on how quickly things recover.

Economy and jobs can't ever recover until we get to the end of this pandemic, or I should say 'end in sight'. IF that happens soon enough, then yes everything else will follow. IF not, or the virus only slows down or mutates again, then ya'll will have plenty to bitch about to play the blame game.

Or would you rather have Trump send everybody back to work now, so even more people can get sick and/or die? So you can complain about that?

Have you been drinking already? Where did I bitch about anything in my post? I stated a couple facts. Nobody knows how this will play out and how quickly we will start to recover...which is what I said the first time

It might be deeper than we realize...

“The recession appears to be deeper and more prolonged than we were led to believe just 14 days ago when we last updated our forecasts, not just in the US but globally as well,” said BofA economists led by Michelle Meyer.

“We now believe that there will be three consecutive quarters of GDP contraction with the US economy shrinking 7% in 1Q, 30% in 2Q and 1% in 3Q. We expect this to be followed by a pop in growth in 4Q. We forecast the cumulative decline in GDP to be 10.4% and this will be the deepest recession on record, nearly five times more severe than the post-war average.”

If Trump keeps doing what he's doing and Republicans keep doing what they're doing and Biden keeps doing what he's doing and Democrats including the OP keep doing what they're doing...Trump wins in a landslide...40 states.

I think he'll brag that he can construct and convey a complete, coherent sentence.... then look over at that drooling, stuttering fuck and dare him to reply.... that would be my plan.

Everyone will go vote so they can get out of the house. The lines will be 14 miles long due to social distancing enforced by the 24" apart badged socialist who tell you what to do

Most economists agree that the 3rd quarter will be the recession 'tell'.
How deep is up for grabs.

No....he is blamed for his stupid policies that kept the country from bouncing back the way it normally does after a recession............

And since Trump doesn't hate American and wants the country to succeed, the bounce back from this will be stunning.......
False equivalency is FALSE. It's right there in the name.

Nope, no drinking allowed.

But you just had to bring Obama into it, which is still comparing apples to orange man bad for the country's low times. Thereby 'bitching' without actually saying so.

I used an example of the most recent president. I know that you do not like it when people do not bow down to your god, but in this country the president gets the blame for the economy they have, right or wrong

Unlike the worst recovery from a recession in US history, while blowing tons of money on wasteful projects that harmed the country......

Trump had nothing to do with this. Obama pushed banks to make bad loans. He is tied to the crash.

Trump didn't push for a Corona virus, and it's obvious he didn't encourage trade, or travel to China.

So there is absolutely no possible way to tie the current economy to Trump.

If the fools elect another person especially one of the Prog shillsin, then we get what we deserve. Trumps deserves another 4 years. And he can bring the recovery. Just imagine what could have been done without all of this venom against him. Progs are murderers. Over and over.

How will the unemployment rate affect the election?

1. Unemployment was at its lowest in the countries history during Trumps first term. So, the track record here is, Trumps administration turned the economy around from a mismanaged failure into a bustling newborn.

2. The coronavirus pandemic is a worldwide issue. Trump can't be blamed nor his administration. Unemployment might skyrocket, but when quarantine ends much of that unemployment is going to decrease.

So, with those two facts in mind you need to consider what unemployment could be like come November. I would take my chances on a strong recovery before the election, probably not a full recovery. Either way, there will be recovery and Trumps administration has already proven its ability to decrease unemployment. So, barring any unforeseen issues that would be devastating to Trumps platform, this can only be a win-win situation for Trump. Everyone will know and see that all he has done during his first term is improve improve improve.
