After reviewing acknowledgments of God from all 50 state constitutions, one is faced with the prospect that maybe, just maybe, the out-of-control federal courts that are "outlawing God" from our culture are Wrong!

Consider what William Penn said, "Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants." At the rate we are going, it won't be long coming!

They're not "outlawing" anything. Merely trying to maintain a healthy separation between church and state.

And as for William Penn's quote, he obviously never lived under the Taliban. They claimed to govern in God's name and created one of the most repressive theocracies in history. Come to think of it, that's how all theocracies wind up. Oppressive, authoritarian, tyrannical, totalitarian...That's the government you get when church and state are joined. History has shown us this time and again. Why don't you pay attention?

A "healthy" separation OF church and state?? Sounds like you would like all the Christians isolated and quarantined like they are some kind of bug.

There's no such thing as "separation of Church and State" that exists outside the minds of libs like yourself...

Mr. Penn's quote made no mention of Church, so I'm not sure what your point is...

Nowhere in my skimming (after the 4th state i didn't want to read anymore) did i see Jesus, Mary, Elijah, Muhammad, Zeus, Brahmah... or any other religious figure or reference. The state constitutions just mention an abstract power, (no religion specifically).

I don't believe that the state constitutions, having the word 'God', validify or disprove the actions of the federal government, nor do I believe that they validify or disprove the existence of a God.

I myself am athiest, I believe in no higher power, yet I still will say the Pledge of Allegiance (including 'under God'), I still will use US currency (with 'in God we Trust'), I wont complain about about prayer sermons before Congressional meetings and before Presidential Inaugurations, I wont protest the use of the 'Ten Commandments' in court rooms, and I won't get angry when a cashier says "Merry Christmas" to me during the Holiday Season (though I was brought up Jewish, but now dont believe in god)... I act accordingly because it is tradition, it is not meant to insult me, it is not meant to demean my own religion (or lack thereof). It is disrespectful and uncalled for, when other athiests, or (religion-bound) liberals who think that they are voicing the opinions of athiests, feel that they are doing the US a service by burning flags, protesting money, the pledge of allegiance... These people have nothing better to do with their time but complain. These people would rather cause a headache during the holiday season rather than enjoying themselves and going on vacation to Florida like every other American family.

Honestly, its nothing but a waste of time to try and get Constitutional Amendments keeping the 10 commandments out of the courtroom, and changing the Pledge... Whether you like it or not, the foundations of our legal, social, and moral systems lie with Judeo-Christian religious beliefs, and our legal, social, and moral systems seem to be getting along just fine in comparison to the rest of the world. Get used to it.

Arizona 1911, Preamble. [/B] We, the people of the State of Arizona, grateful to Almighty God for our liberties, do ordain this Constitution...

From the Arizona Constitution:

12. Liberty of conscience; appropriations for religious purposes prohibited; religious freedom

Section 12. The liberty of conscience secured by the provisions of this constitution shall not be so construed as to excuse acts of licentiousness, or justify practices inconsistent with the peace and safety of the state. No public money or property shall be appropriated for or applied to any religious worship, exercise, or instruction, or to the support of any religious establishment. No religious qualification shall be required for any public office or employment, nor shall any person be incompetent as a witness or juror in consequence of his opinion on matters of religion, nor be questioned touching his religious belief in any court of justice to affect the weight of his testimony.

I didn't dig into all of them, but I imagine you can find similar clauses in most state's Constitutions.

Maybe the courts are RIGHT afterall.

If these laws were enforced equally and included ALL religions I might respect them. Now religions other than Christianity are disguised as "mutliculturalism".
