How Obama's Policies Hurt Indiana

It amazes me how so many people on this site are liberals when Obama has done so much damage to broad swaths of the nation. In many ways, my state of Indiana is a microcosm of America. We have urban areas(Indianapolis), a lot of manufacturing(especially Northwest/Northeast Indiana), plenty of agriculture(all across the state), coal mining(Southwest Indiana).

All across the state, we're getting hammered by Obama's policies.

Here in Northwest Indiana where I live, Obama's EPA is declaring war on American energy, instituting a plan similar to cap-and-trade even though cap-and-trade never passed Congress - even our local Democrat representative Pete Visclosky voted against it! This means fewer steel workers and higher utility rates. In addition, the Obama/EPA War on American energy is threatening to close our refinery in Whiting, a huge job creator and the biggest gasoline producer in the continental US outside the Gulf coast. That's just wrong.
In Northeast/North-Central Indiana, Obama's refusal to support American energy has hurt the RV industry and threatened jobs in places like Elkhart and South Bend. In addition, the values of Northeast and North-Central Indiana are being threatened, especially in the Catholic university of Notre Dame, where the Obama birth control mandate is a massive war on religious freedom. While I'm not a Catholic, many people I know both in my area and NE Indiana are, and for them, Notre Dame is a Catholic university that supports their values. Obama's war on religious freedom is hurting their communities. In Southwest Indiana, Obama's war on coal hits people especially hard. People in that area need coal mining jobs to provide for their families, but socialist Lisa Jackson is shutting down mines there. Also, this region, especially in the part bordering Kentucky, has enjoyed very low electricity prices for years. But the Obama war on coal is threatening the low cost of living in these areas. In Southeast, agriculture is predominant. Obama's been killing agriculture with his EPA. They even tried to pass a ridiculous regulation on farm dust as well as disallow kids from working on family farms. And in Indianapolis, the key urban area in Indiana, Obama's hurting companies like Ely Lily, Brightpoint, and Wellpoint with massive new regulations on pharmaceuticals, wireless communications(especially "net neutrality"), and healthcare. And all throughout Indiana, Obamacare means higher insurance premiums and lower healthacre quality. Since Indiana is a biomedical hub, the medical devices tax is killing thousands of jobs here, hurting families and our economy.

Liberals, why do you support these policies which hurt my state of Indiana, from the farm fields to the cities? In our state, we don't want a handout. We want the government off our backs. As a state, we unfortunately supported Obama in 2008 but in 2012 sent a resounding signal that more government is not welcome.

IMO, while liberals are wrong on many issues, their stance on energy is so destructive and antithetical to the idea of human progress that it makes me sick. Liberals, what is your rationale for supporting all of these destructive policies which hurt Indiana and America?

There are various reasons people support Obama. They get a check every month. They want wealth redistribution. They intend to be among the elite when government becomes a dictatorship. Unemployment only hurts those who want to work. Higher utilities, sky high insurance premiums and deductibles and other increases in bills only hurt those who pay from their own earnings. Higher taxes are only a hardship for those who pay them, not those who receive the money.

I agree that Obamas policies are hurting the whole country, however, as for Indiana I can think of no other states policies that help the Hoosier state better than that of Illinois.

Indeed. I really like Bruce Rauner, but the selfish part of me wants the loser Pat Quinn re-elected so jobs keep moving from Illinois to here.

Not to mention his semi-negroidness.

Obama's race has nothing to do with why he's a horrible President. Obama's hatred of the free-enterprise values that made America great is the problem, not his skin color.

It has much to do with why Liberals support him and his policies.

Just be glad you don't have the same fuck-ups running Indiana like we do here in Illinois. I was born in Indiana. And I love ham. I'm in the energy business, and I know what you're saying on that account.

Obama has specifically targeted Indiana to spread his brand of islam/communism/marxism/socialism/nazism.

Obama is going to take the co2 from coal emissions and use them to drill for oil
Obama is forcing the mileage on our cars up!
Obama is making sure natural gas is clean!

Go Obama!

You sound like another mindless Obama drone.

Congrats. I'm sure Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Mao, and Alinsky would be proud.

The republicans can't stop him

he is reducing our emissions!!! Good for him. You won't ever stop him as you simply don't control the part of government that gets things done!

Read your own signature and realize that Obama and the left extremists are the only ones who don't allow criticism. (AttackWatch ring a bell?) He is trying to rule over us and it's not about doing things for the greater good. That's the oldest ruse in the book and those ignorant of history are falling for it yet again.

Yes, he brags that unelected bureaucrats can make up laws and regulations as they go along without any say by the American people and then quotes Voltaire. I guess tyranny is ok so as long as you agree with those in charge.
