When a country starts rewarding the irresponsible and punishing the responsible we certainly have made a wrong turn. It is starting to destroy this country and will destroy it if it does not stop. Sooner or later the irresponsible will suffer the most but it may only come when the country is finally at a point of no return. Will it ever end?

There's a very fat line between those who cannot provide for themselves and those who will not provide for themselves.

And a very fat line between people who will distory millions of lives for a god damned buck and the people who are jsut trying to have a decent life.

yes... you're right. we should stop rewarding banks for irresponsible behavior.

was that what you meant to say?

Indeed... add to that list shady "Green" firms, auto makers that have more ex-employees on their insurance than current workers, etc.

I have no problem with stopping bailouts.. too big to fail is nonsense.

The operative word here is trying. Many are not really trying... and that's the problem.

Responsible people will have to maintain the irresponsible until they say no. Then they need to be prepared to back that up with force.

It's like feeding the bears. You can feed them and feed them. When you stop, the bears attack the camp.

Unfortunately, you are correct... look at Greece, look at Spain.... look at London. The nanny-state is an epic fail.

There's going to be hell to pay when you've promised so much to so many, and you can't deliver.

Imagine letting your kid live at home and do nothing well into his forties and them booting him out onto the street and telling him "you're on your own".

Whoa...

When are we going to keep building on the coast when they know damn well Hurricanes hit and destroys everything. Look at NC the main road to the other banks have been washed out pretty much every storm.. USE FAIRIES Freak the bridge That way the tourist can go to the beach and you don't have to keep rebuilding the same bridge.. Its called common sense but our government has none!

You people really want the poor to get a beat down dont you?

Can you point to one example where anyone speaks of "giving the poor a beat down"?

We're just tired of nitwits like you continually advocating policies that ensnare people in a lifetime of poverty.

Hopefully you mean ferries.

That's what bankruptcy proceedings are crafted for. Once the Gubmint Camel's nose is under the tent? Gubmint calls the shots.

The problem is you can only help those that help themselves. If you try to help those that don’t want to help themselves then it drags you down with them. That is what is happening to the country now.

One firm does not make "green firms". Though it seems, for whatever reason, the previous administration had taken aan interest in Solyndra, as well.

I don't believe " too big tomfail" is nonsense, but I do think we need to stop socializing corporate debt. a bank closes without our money, the American peoplenshould own that bank, IMO.
