Of course it does. Limiting the spread of respiratory output means any pathogen may not travel as far or spread as wide.

Then show us the facts where folks who wore masks all the time, have a far lower rate of infection with COVID. Why do you demand to fight science? That's all the major media outlets told you, isn't it? So you bow down and lap it up. Why?

Europe's Top Health Officials Say Masks Aren't Helpful in Beating COVID-19

The top medical experts in the world can’t decide if masks are helpful in reducing the spread of COVID-19 or just make things worse.

Thursday, August 6, 2020

Denmark boasts one of the lowest COVID-19 death rates in the world. As of August 4, the Danes have suffered 616 COVID-19 deaths, according to figures from Johns Hopkins University.

That’s less than one-third of the number of Danes who die from pneumonia or influenza in a given year.

Despite this success, Danish leaders recently found themselves on the defensive. The reason is that Danes aren’t wearing face masks, and local authorities for the most part aren’t even recommending them.

CDC Study Finds Overwhelming Majority Of People Getting Coronavirus Wore Masks
OCTOBER 12, 2020 By Jordan Davidson

A Centers for Disease Control report released in September shows that masks and face coverings are not effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19, even for those people who consistently wear them.

A study conducted in the United States in July found that when they compared 154 “case-patients,” who tested positive for COVID-19, to a control group of 160 participants from health care facilities who were symptomatic but tested negative, over 70 percent of the case-patients were contaminated with the virus and fell ill despite “always” wearing a mask.

In truth, we wish masks worked. If they did, it would be a cheap, and easy way to control the spread of Covid. The idea that they protect not only their wearer, but also those people around them seems noble. We wished masks worked because citizens are spending billions of dollars on them.

We wish masks worked because most Americans wear them now. Telling them it was unnecessary will not make them happy. We wish masks worked because they have become a symbol for virtue and social responsibility. Anyone who doubts their utility is personally attacked; as though they don’t believe the viral pandemic is real, or don’t care about those who die from it.

Flip-flop Fauci reverses—again—on double-mask-wearing

Whatever Dr. Anthony Fauci says today may be different from what he says tomorrow, but he might come back to what he said yesterday in a day or two if he feels like it.

If there’s one thing that’s certain about the coronavirus, it’s that Dr. Anthony Fauci reserves the right to change whatever he’s said in the past to fit whatever narrative he needs to push forward in the present. His reversals have become so common that it’s almost impossible to keep up with his current agenda at any given moment.

A thorough marketing campaign for the use of low-quality masks has convinced millions of people that masks will reduce COVID-19 spread, but do they really?

Much Recent Pro-Mask Research Is Deeply Flawed
The only statistically significant data on preventing viral spread is for N95 masks worn indoors when one can’t socially distance, which is not the type of mask required nor typically worn by the general public.

He stated it is not a perfect solution.

Masks are less effective at protecting the wearer from airborne viruses. Persons who are contagious and not wearing masks around people who are wearing masks could potentially be worse for the mask wearer since it has been pointed out that something as small as an airborne virus (minus the respiratory droplets and aerosols) could penetrate the mask and possibly recirculate due to the mask being more effective at not letting those particulates escape from the wearer of the mask.

The reason why masks don't stop coronavirus is because there is no mechanism in them that can stop viruses. The holes or pores in masks that are meant to filter stuff out are 1000 times bigger than viruses and virus carrying droplets, so viruses and droplets flow through masks effortlessly. If one uses a filter that can actually filter out some viruses, pressure is created that allows breath to go around the mask. Masks are useless, and no lefty can explain HOW they work.

The fabrics used in masks are press together tightly. The velocity of expelled droplets from coughs and sneezes which are typical 50 to 100 mph fall dramatically as they enter the mask. They are either caught in the material or passed through at a very low speed do to collisions. This significantly reduces transmission.

The size of the weave of the fabric is not directly comparable to the size of the droplets or droplet nuclei, due to the three dimensional nature of many types of material, the indirect route taken by small particles in brownian motion, and the electrostatic effects in many materials. So if you’ve seen those claims that masks can’t possibly stop COVID-19 because the virus is too small, now you know why they’re totally wrong.

This information is pure theory. It cites brownian motion as a means to filter out smaller particles, but it skips over specifying how wide the path of travel is or the maximum width parameters of the hole that is supposed to stop the smaller particle via brownian motion. Your article also does not address how the pressure would effect the seal of disposable masks if you tried to breathe through something that could actually be effective against viruses. The article does not address the bulk of breath that easily flows around the mask and into the cloud around ones head. The article is just theory, so it does not address why a person who vapes can blow huge value clouds through and around masks, as if they were not even there.

Masks are annoying and frankly I remain skeptical at how much they help given that people don't keep them clean like they should. Most people anyway. That being said we are run by the News Entertainment media that enjoys panicking people.

So see the poll and please vote.

Thank you

Flip-flop Fauci reverses—again—on double-mask-wearing

Whatever Dr. Anthony Fauci says today may be different from what he says tomorrow, but he might come back to what he said yesterday in a day or two if he feels like it.

If there’s one thing that’s certain about the coronavirus, it’s that Dr. Anthony Fauci reserves the right to change whatever he’s said in the past to fit whatever narrative he needs to push forward in the present. His reversals have become so common that it’s almost impossible to keep up with his current agenda at any given moment.

Many Studies Find That Cloth Masks Do Not Stop Viruses Like COVID
By Lisa Mair
NOVEMBER 23, 2020

Of course it's theory, but widely accepted. Masks have proven themselves effective at reducing transmission of airborne diseases for nearly hundred years.

I've seen a few other people make it to brownian motion an electrostatic charges to explain how a hole can filter out something smaller, this makes you one of the scarce few who has even acknowledged that the holes or pores in masks are huge compared to the size of what they are supposed to filter out. Congrats, you are far more advanced than the garden variety lefty. I am looking forward to the day when a mask culture defender actually presents the maximum width an opening can be in order for brownian motion to have a filtration effect.

Unfortunately, brownian motion and electrostatic charges don't work in the real world to filter out viruses. A person who vapes can easily blow a vape cloud through and around a face mask, but the theories are fun to look at.

Which, as you know, has nothing, whatsoever to do with the public wearing cloth masks in public.

Why?

Dr. Fauci Masks don’t work.

The problem with your argument is there are no specific hole sizes in mask filtration. Thinking of masks as having a standard hole size such as a wire screen is simple but inaccurate. The bottom picture is a piece of thread in a mask filter layer. Although that thread may appear to be sold it is actually fibers with a maze holes. So what appears to be solid thick cloth is actually a sheet of irregular spaced threads composed of a maze of fibers and holes, some of the spacings is far smaller than the droplets and some are far larger.

The virus itself ranges from 50 to 140 nm in size however droplets that carry the virus varies that carry them ranges from 20 to 2000 microns. A simple single layer cloth mask will stop or divert the larger droplets, Double layers are more effective an n95 masks will filter out 95%. There are a number labs that measure filtration. NIH has several papers on it.
BTW masks do not filter out the actual virus but rather the droplets that convey them. And yes, brownian motion and electrostatic charges do divert the droplets.

For bacteria, yes. That's the difference between bacteria and a virus.

View this once again, maybe it will start to sink in.

Difference between a virus and bacteria.

Masks filter the droplets that carry the virus, not the virus itself. Those droplets sizes go from 20 to 2000 micrometers. Bacteria goes from .7 micrometers to about 50 micrometers. Whether we are talking about respiratory droplets or bacteria, or other particles the masks behave the same. When you cough or sneeze particles are ejected at a speed on 50 to 100mph. They enter the mask at different angles and are reflected off of a maze of fibers and thread as they move through the mask losing speed. Some of particles never make it out the mask, others at a very slow speed and settle, and some will go through the mask untouched, depending on the quality of the mask.

Efficacy of mask material and masks are not just theory. Places like 3M, Ameritech, Johnson & Johnson, and the NIH, all measure their effectiveness. Generally the problem with masks are not mask material, or design but rather the wearers. People take them off because they feel safe, when they aren't. They wear them too loose, don't bother to clean them, and often just don't wear them at all.

Please specify what argument of mine you are referring to. Also, please quote where I have claimed that there is any standard size mask, mask pore, droplet, or any specifications connected to mask filtration.

I complimented you for being one of the few who have made it to the stage where electrostatic charges and brownian motion are presented as a way to filter particles that are smaller than the pores, but that does not mean that I don't understand these filtration concepts, how masks are constructed, or the sizes of droplets and viruses. I've done my homework on masks, and I have done ongoing training and respirator fit tests for decades.

You're desperate, that much is obvious. Look, the discussion is about the CLOTH masks that 95% of the public are wearing. I bought two from a motorcycle club where I am a member. A friend of mine put a photo on FB showing the seven cloth masks she had bought in seven different colors. Mine or her's could not filter bacteria much less a virus.

Real world is where it counts, not some politically motivated company. You are indeed very correct that the wearers are a big problem, and this will never change. This is one of several reasons why masks will never work in the real world.

I would be careful with quoting and promoting the work of Jeremy Howard, unless you understand that his work that you are quoting is coming straight from a commie who has stated that he does in fact want to see masks used by everybody, forever. He has presented his theories as if they are fact, without providing any data to verify his work with, and he has assembled it with extreme political bias. His "deep learning" is actually "deep spin" if you take some time to objectively vet his statements and claims.

He does not understand that all the science and theory are worthless if somebody who vapes can exhale a cloud of vape that flows easily and effortlessly through and around a mask. He does not understand why surgical masks come with warnings on the box that advise that they are not intended to prevent covid.

Right wingers simply ignore that a mask must mitigate some of possibility for spreading the virus much better than going maskeless.

As much as lefties love to impose their ideology upon people, you cannot tell or force masks to mitigate anything. The masks will not do what you try to force them to do. You cannot impose your ideology on masks, they won't listen to you.

Simply because a right winger proclaims so? You have no "gospel Truth". You need valid arguments not just appeals to your ignorant morality.

Which, as you know, has nothing, whatsoever to do with the public wearing cloth masks in public.

Why?

Dr. Fauci Masks don’t work.

1/25/2021 Masking the Science

[…]

Anthony Fauci says today may be different from what he says tomorrow, but he might come back to what he said yesterday in a day or two if he feels like it.
by Carl Durrek February 1, 2021 in Healthcare

If there’s one thing that’s certain about the coronavirus, it’s that Dr. Anthony Fauci reserves the right to change whatever he’s said in the past to fit whatever narrative he needs to push forward in the present. His reversals have become so common that it’s almost impossible to keep up with his current agenda at any given moment.

Many Studies Find That Cloth Masks Do Not Stop Viruses Like COVID
By Lisa Mair
NOVEMBER 23, 2020

Of course it's theory, but widely accepted. Masks have proven themselves effective at reducing transmission of airborne diseases for nearly hundred years.

LOL,

Covid-1984 masks are being used to shut your mouth up and make you a psycho by breathing CO
