How do republicans make sense of Trump wanting to push for another round of stimulus payments yet pretends COVID isn’t a crisis?

I mean which is it? Is it a crisis? Trump definitely doesn’t act like it. He is only pushing for more checks because he desperately wants voters to like him. It’s pretty pathetic.

Republicans generally complain about this kind of socialism yet they won’t with these stimulus checks for two reasons:

1) Trump wants it so therefore it’s a great idea.

2) Welfare like this is obviously excused by republicans because, well, they are people who are getting it lol. It’s not like any republican will say no to their check. They only complain when other people get free monies. They will gladly accept their check yet continue the double speak of COVID being no biggie.

Third, if the government forces a shutdown of the economy, then it is somewhat logical that the group causing the damage, should pay for the damage, does it not?

The real solution is stop all the nonsense, and end all restrictions on the economy.

Oh stop your crying.....people under 70 are surviving this flu....its now at a lower rate of death than the seasonal flu of 2018....if any teacher doesn't feel safe that teacher can refuse to go back to work with zero repercussions...

Thousands of teachers want to go back because their jobs will be made triple fold tougher if the schools stay closed next semester.....if Japan and most of the rest of the world can return to school so can we.....

This is really about the dems using school closures to make an argument against in person voting in November.....and its not going to work....if blues city schools stay closed while the rest of the country opens the blue city leaders will have to explain their actions to their voters.....

Ohh I think saying the Dems sent in rioters to make the virus bigger and bigger is a cheap shot and divisive hyperbole. I don’t think anybody, Dem or Republican, wants to see this virus spread. I think the Dems have been more focused on trying to stop it while Reps have been more focused on dismissing it to focus on the economy.

I think he's only pushing because he said he wouldn't sign it and McConnell won't let it go through without payroll tax cuts. Sounds good but certainly drains social security. He doesn't give a shit whether the unemployed receives money but yes someone told him it might help with his re election.
