And he wasn’t content to claim this, but issued a warning to those who claim the police are corrupt.

During a press conference on Monday, Gamaldi said police officers “are sick and tired of having targets on our back. We are sick and tired of having dirtbags trying to take our lives when all we are trying to do is protect this community and protect our families. Enough is enough.”

“And if you’re the ones that are out there spreading the rhetoric that police officers are the enemy — well, just know we’ve all got your number now. We’re going to be keeping track of all y’all and we’re going to make sure we hold you accountable every time you stir the pot on our police officers,” Gamaldi warned.

When asked on “Fox and Friends” about those he was accusing, Gamaldi replied, “I’m talking to the talking heads on some of these mainstream media outlets. I’m talking to the activists who have severely just made our officers the enemy. They have put targets on our backs. The statistics show it.”

Gamaldi pointed to statistics showing there has been a 50-percent increase from 2013 to 2016 “in officers being killed by gunfire.”

Yes, they’re going to keep track of those who say that the Police in Houston are corrupt and inept.

The problem is that the stories of corruption and ineptitude flow from Houston like water down the Mississippi River. The elected and public officials are according to one study, more corrupt than Chicago, and New Orleans, which is really saying something. Police in Houston have been exposed for beating suspects in the jail, running a money laundering ring, rape, murder for hire, and the list goes on, and on, and on.

The problem isn’t those who speak of this corruption Mr. Gamaldi. The problem is the corruption, and the actions that are normal to cover it up to protect the Union Members.

That is but one example, where corrupt cops were the subject of a year long investigation. I’m willing to bet that the police themselves happily put these corrupt cops on the stand to testify, as Officers with exemplary honor and trustworthiness, against the terrible criminals that they were arresting.

When police brutality was known about in the Jail, the Department did nothing until the Media, the hated people who the Police Union President says they are going to track and hold accountable, ran an investigation of their own, exposing the brutality. Then suddenly the Department decided an investigation of their own, into what they already knew was going on, was warranted. No comments of course, into an ongoing investigation.

The Police aren’t angry that people are telling lies about them. The cops are pissed because people are telling the truth about them. The cops can’t honestly think that without these stories, the communities that are regularly abused would love and welcome them with open arms.

The difference now is that the stories of corruption, misconduct, and abuse, are no longer limited to a small circle of friends and family, but spread wide to the world at large.

That is what the cops hate.
