A similar law needs to be passed against State governors and city mayors who attempt to by-pass "Buy American" directives. Obama has been openly telling these politicians to defy federal leadership on this. None other than Canada and the provincial premiers have been bypassing Trump and his administration and going directly to the state and city mayors to attempt to operate around Buy American policies.

Canada loves protectionism for our industries and jobs and they work hard to make sure America and others don't protect their tax payers. A quick law denying or decreasing funds to those who circumvent these laws would work wonders. Hell, even a dollar for dollar decrease would do the trick. So, if a state or city uses taxpayer funds to buy Canadian made goods to the tune of $300M, the US federal government can with hold $300M to that state or city. Problem solved and Obama's anti-Americanism undermining of "America First" would have no value.

Email your city mayor and governor and ask if they are local taxes to buy Canadian goods rather than buying America. You will understand how the Canadian provinces are undermining U.S efforts. There should be consequences.
