I am often amazed and a bit confused that people do not have any idea of the power of diversity for a society, for its progress and stability. Narrow tribal societies do not get very far - is that not obvious? It is only in a mix of people ideas knowledge debate argument and art that peoplekind moves forward. Hopefully forward is peaceful, but if everyone respects everyone it can be and it can be productive as well.

Considering that only 3 or 5% are gay, it's a very poor method of "population" control.

Groups of primates that live today exhibit "homosexual" behaviour. It tends to reinforce the social structure.

Also, having a few extra "adults" around who have no interest in having children of their own, adds extra hands and increases the likelihood of children maturing. One man and one woman raising several children may be impossible. A "group" marriage, the most common form among nomads, increases the ability for group survival.

In nature there are several reasons for "homosexual" behaviour. However, there is NO REASON whatsoever for religion. It adds nothing. There is not a single benefit one can name from religion. And if anyone says, "charity or inclusion", atheists do those.

And "inclusion" is certainly NOT a part of religion. Ask the gays.
