With all this talk of global warming, it was a strange sight to instead see homes getting buried feet deep in ice along Lake Erie. Imagine this is your house!

When is that global warming arriving again?

Cold temperatures turn New York homes to ice

Anything other than warming is climate change.

The science is settled!
I agree....

It's definitely been proven that we have such a thing as "weather"!!!!
We also have billions of years of an ever-changing climate.
And the only way we can change this is by raising taxes and opening our borders.
And ending Capitalism......

Q. By how much must we lower CO2 to prevent climate change/global warming?

A. $92,000,000,000,000

Yup....and after we're done with that...we can move onto taking care of the important business of this country.....taking care of disease infested illegals.....and bringing them here as fast as possible spreading diseases and death along the way.
This is socialism.

That is a lakeside summer home. Sometimes when there's a gale, the waves get really big and cause a big splash on shore. I lived on Lake Ontario and we used to drive down to see the breakers after a huge storm. It was awesome.

It was so warm this winter that Germany cannot produce Ice Wine this year, because they never had a hard freeze that concentrates the sugar in the grapes. Heard it on the news this morning.

It's getting warmer, toob.

Yeah....hard freezes concentrate the sugars in grapes. LOL

Hope those folks have some good homeowner's insurance for when all that ice melts! They've never seen anything like this before. Sure is a helluva way to suffer global warming.

Makes it easier to understand why that region was buried under a mile thick ice sheet doesn't it.

The thought just occurred to me that there is one hell of a lot of weight on that structure. IF expanding ice doesn't crush that home the water seep will as it warms back up... Damn!

Somebody on here mentioned summer home. In one of the pictures, the blue sided house to the right appeared totally clear of Ice. Are pictures like these, houses that do not have the heat on? Does it stay for the remainder of winter? I never lived farther north than Kentucky. Sights like those are amazing, but are situations I have never seen first hand or had to contend with. I assume they are annual events on the coastlines of our largest, most northern lakes?

Good question... I would guess that home has heat and the others did not. I will have to call my sister who lives up there and find out.

Nope... It wasn't heat.. Look closely at the other pictures. The sides not facing the wind and splash are clean.

It's quite possible that the weight of some of that ice is enough to collapse the structures and the only thing keeping them up is the shell of ice supporting itself. When it warms up and that stuff starts breaking apart, I'd hate to see the final damage.
