Disney has no imagination these days. They're so busy pushing diversity in their films that they forget to provide a reasonable plot.
In this film they rip-off Harry Potter by making the kid English with glasses. Explain how this English kid ends up in America while his mother is on a trip to Japan. The kid doesn't pull any punches...smashing his victims with weapons that normally would kill most people. The poor husband and wife that made the mistake of trying to get into his home just bounce around like rag-dolls taking punishment that Wiley Coyote would be never come back from.
The burglars aren't burglars....but a couple that are looking for a rare doll that they think the kid stole from them. So from the beginning there's the assumption that this kid is a rotten thief.....and all thru the movie all you want to do is kick his ass.
There's very little to like about this film......other than the acting isn't amateurish. It's just that there's not much to work with in this waste of time.
I love the Home Alone series......but it's really gone off the deep end.....and people that shouldn't be directing have pretty much destroyed the franchise.
The trailer looks better than the movie itself.
