The Department of Homeland Security announced Monday that it will restart the construction of President Trump’s border wall, moving to plug “gaps” left in place after President Biden ordered all work to stop on his first day in office.

The department said it will fix gates and build out the access roads that Border Patrol agents use to respond to incursions, moving to stiffen physical defenses as the surge of illegal border crossings from Mexico continues at a record pace.

Homeland Security said Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas gave the OK for the construction, which will touch on spots along the border from Del Rio, Texas, to San Diego.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced Monday that it will use border wall funds to close some unfinished gaps in the wall that former President Trump started.

President Biden shut down all construction on the wall when he entered office on Jan. 20, leaving large sections of the wall incomplete and construction material sitting unused on the border.

So they have these stacks of fencing just sitting there rotting away so they decided they might as well install it.

Makes sense.

trump's wall only covers 40 miles of a 2,000 mile long border.

I believe there are places where a wall is a good idea. Trump only put up 15 miles of new wall. By the end of his second term, it would have been 30 miles. Long way from the 3000 mile wall he wanted to build.

And now we can afford a wall because Biden got us out of Afganistan. He also passed an infrastructure bill.

Funny how the crazy left always says the funniest things. We do not need a wall. We don’t want a wall. Suddenly might want it now. We got vegetable joe spending like a drunk sailor might as well have one.
The wall would not cover all the way. Well funny no one but the left said that.
Good news that they are completing some of it. Only took Texas to start building because of the vegetables inability to handle things to get them to do it.

That isn't true as 80 miles of totally new walls were built, plus hundreds of miles of dilapidated and useless designs were replaced, which in essence is new walls.

And Trump had to fight hard to get a small amount of funding, fight the ACLU and others in court, and have his people find other ways to fund the wall.

  • 373 miles worth of construction has been completed in place of dilapidated and or outdated designs.
  • 80 miles worth of border wall construction happened in locations where no barriers previously existed.

Fixing gates and building out access roads. Where does it say anything about border wall construction? Oh wait they didnt.

The fact alone that this administration will not sell Texas taxpayer paid for rusting wall, is proof that Dimm's frivously fritter away our taxpayer dollars!

And then they have the gall to bitch about Manchin's opposition to Build Back Badly!!

They're nothing but taxpayer ripoffs!
