So in the link, Bill Gates claims there will be no poor nations in 2035. To the international community, that appears to mean $1.25 per day, per person, as some nature of threshold.

Bill Gates: There will be no poor countries by 2035

The Code of Moses prohibited worship of any of the real deities, for example the Greek religion of the Pythagoreans. The Code of Moses mainly prohibited fixed percentage usury among the Jewish congregations, only. Everyone else was easy, fair predatory game, in the ancient ways of the Code of Moses--basis for modern religions, in the West.

The link notes that government budgets tend to be the current, main remedy of the poverty problem. So for Socialists everywhere, then any end in sight is a viable evidence of the success of not thinking like a myopic, adled, Presbyterian from the 17th century. In Obama-Biden there is celebration of Matthew 20:1-16, instead, for example. That created money-unit inclusion of the lower income market in their concept of economic recovery. Most of their actual federal deficit, actually got sent to the already prosperous, bureaucrats and teachers instead. These people seem to eat a lot, or have bigger mortgages, or way too bloated incomes, to be ignored. "Too Big To Fail," even moreso than Donald Trump and Oprah, combined(?). People OK with interracial matters can continue reading. 17th Century Presbyterian, adled-level people, do not do market money-unit creating, for the people as a whole. There is usury, instead--at a particular and constant level.

Government is not always the fix, but is useful when arithmetic is put in legislation--like happened in the Obama-Biden-Pelosi-Reid, US Stimulus. That came after the other people had their shot at really blowing everything apart, really big time. The other people did take "The Make Work Pay Refundable Income Tax Credit," equal amounts: Away from All America. The idea was to run a Mormon for President, instead.

Based on a five-day work week, for a one adult household, The Obama-Biden refundable credit was $1.54 per day, or $3.07 per day for a two-adult household, both with incomes.
Apparently that is now thought poverty-ending(?).

Again, the Republicans took that away and replaced the New Testament plan, even with more deficit--in the payroll tax holiday that was also allowed to lapse.

Now even the Holy Father is raising all kinds of Hell about economies. It is elsewhere noted that modern religion, for the most part, otherwise has no real bearing on anything relevant to anyone's life, anymore. The Sumer civilization seems to have better understood what religion was for.

"Crow, James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred!'
(One Holy Father got rid of 400 child molesters, for example: Washing away something, if not altogether any sins(?)!)

Gettin' more expensive to be poor...
Poverty in America More Hopeless and More Comfortable Than Ever
May 07, 2014 — What does it mean in America to be poor? Annie Lowrey of the New York Times has an insightful new article that takes apart the question of how costs of living in America has changed over the past nine years. Her result: as toys and luxury prices have plummeted, the important things like food, education and health care have only gotten more expensive.
A few thoughts. First, the price of poverty in this country continues to increase. Many costs in America disproportionately impact the poor, including the popularity of flat taxes like sales tax and Social Security/Medicare withholding. It turns out market prices drive this phenomenon too. As televisions and iPads become more affordable, basic necessities like keeping the family car in working order have gone up.

For the poor, this means working steadily harder to simply keeping food on the table and a roof over their heads. Prices have increased for everyone, but it means a lot more when you have much less to spend.

Second, America is eating its seed corn. Our toys come cheaper than ever while the important things keeping getting farther and farther out of reach. Right wing politicians mock an American underclass that can afford flat screen TVs, but that's because trivial "stuff" like consumer electronics have gotten dirt cheap. It's a bait and switch to point at someone's refrigerator and ignore his medical bills.

The costs of education and health care, the absolute best mechanisms for lifting people out of poverty, keep going up.

Yellen cites housing, geopolitical tensions as economic risks
7 May`14 WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A slumping housing market and geopolitical tensions risk undermining the U.S. economy and bear close watching by the Federal Reserve, the central bank's chief said on Wednesday.
In testimony to Congress, Fed Chair Janet Yellen repeated her stance that the economy was still in need of lots of support given the "considerable slack" in the labor market. While she offered few new clues on the direction of interest rates, Yellen broke ground in outlining the risks facing the economic recovery. Her mention of geopolitical tensions as a "prominent risk" suggested the Fed was worried the Ukrainian conflict could weigh on the U.S. economy, while her assessment of housing signaled the sector's slowdown was also a gnawing concern. "The recent flattening in housing activity could prove more protracted than currently expected," Yellen cautioned.

In general, her testimony to the Joint Economic Committee underscored the Fed's commitment to keeping benchmark overnight interest rates near zero for some time to come. "The only different language that I caught was her sentence that housing activity has remained disappointing so far this year and bears watching," said Roberto Perli, a former Fed official and a partner at Cornerstone Macro. In the two statements the Fed's policy-setting panel has issued since Yellen took the central bank's helm in February, it has taken note of the slow housing recovery. On Wednesday, Yellen offered greater detail.

"Mortgage rates went up quite a lot over the spring and summer," she told the lawmakers. "They are still quite low by historical standards, so in that sense housing remains affordable, and I expect housing to pick up." "But ... a recovery that seemed to be in progress really has now flattened out."

You cannot measure poverty based on dollar amounts.

You measure poverty based on LIFE STYLES.

If people have adequate amounts of food shelter, clothing, health care and education THEN they are not POOR.

Actually in the last half decade, much of Somalia is back to stable. Basically, the ability to work with a viable currency, (the U. S. Dollar), in money exchanges allows the basis population to do emerging economy matters fairly well. Mostly, the USBlackPrez comes to the West Los Angeles area, armed with cup and bucket, asking for donations for his friends among the poor(?)! Being an Ivy League, educated fellow: Then just somehow he manages to ignore the usual canvassing area, the Beach Walk at Venice, CA--about three miles away.

Even in the link, however, the Gates assessment would have to call the economy poor, at Per Capita income of $333.00 per year. Likely that would reflect the opinions of the local pirate populations--and various weapons traders.

Anyone forgets what the NRA knows makes people all rich, worldwide? Don't forget transportation for the USBlackPrez, on the LA Westside(?)! Don't forget what the American Medical Association, likely thinks about it, too!

If you aint grossing 60k per year, without overtime, all you are doing is starving to death more slowly than people who make less. That's IF you are single and no kids are involved.

Libel much?!?!? He said there wouldn't be anymore poor countries in the world by 2035. Not that poverty would end. There will always be poverty because there will always be mental midgets like you that think work is a dirty word.

I think Bill Gates is wrong. I think by 2035, there will be more developed countries. I think most of the Asian countries other than the Arab and Muslims shitholes will emerge. I believe many Latin American countries will emerge. Chile is already there. Brazil is close. I think Colombia, Costa Rica, Argentina and Mexico have a good chance of pull out of the shitter. I think Africa will still be a basketcase of rape, genocide, poverty, AIDS and government corruption! He is well off. I think More countries will emerge as developed or developing, but there will still be poor countries, because we will always have Africa!

When he dies he is willing his billions to charity! He and many of his fellow billionaires are part of some club that makes this pledge!

You know nothing about nature. Why don't you look up who coined the phrase"survival of the fittest" It was not a biologist or scientist.

The Code of Hammurabi, preceding the world-devastating Code of Moses, had begun to notice the impact of fixed percentage usury. Any househould could indenture itself into slavery for about three years, to pay off debts. In theory, that was civilization's first great anti-poverty program--except for the failure to regulate usury.

The Code of Moses merely abolished usury among believers. Everyone else was fair game, of that loving concept of a deity(?). The deities of Pantheon would eventually win. Then would arise the stories in Matthew 25:14-30, and Matthew 20:1-16. Matthew 25:14-30 is directly all about the impact of fixed percentage usury. The Great Recession was on(?)! A remedy in Matthew 20:1-16, was not even noted by Adam Smith. It is also likely that both stories do not have Hebrew origins, or origins of that excluded deity, from the Pantheon of real ones(?)! Anyone can apply the Pythagorean Theorem, in fact, to Matthew 25::14-30. That would be of the more sophisticated, conquering Pantheon, civilizations.

A thriving free market needs paying customers. In effect, it makes better market sense to pay a small savings account, a higher rate of interest. The giant savings account doesn't really need the money. Even Gates has noticed that his sales of Microsoft shares tend more to fund the federal government, than anyone's concept of a free market--mine(?), just noted, excepted. Gates has enough. That is not on radar in the ancient ways, or Code of Moses ways. It is not said, "Reward the Poor Greater, and In Fact You Will Live Long and Prosper(?)! Gates makes no such proposal. There is a concept of Moses, about measurement units. Usury is not affected. Soon after Hammurabi, then civilization had started to note, about the impact of numbers. Marshall McLuhan would note that the multiplication of numbers actually made them a "Medium Cool!" It would have to be noted that actually, their equal amount addition of them: Would be the more participatory.

Effectively, if there is to be a viable and functioning credit market, then the bookies(?), or their keepers(?), need to be satisfied, and assured, that solvency can happen. The greater need is for paying customers. The Total Credit Market, after all, is about $60.0 tril., and counting. . . .a serious lot of fingers and toes--or maybe ant legs--that escaped the annual July, Cherry Bombs attacks(?)! More likely the Bill Gates concept of a real star trek is to put the tv set into a B-1 bomber, and drop it---Probably On Time Warner Cable. Cord-Cutting is in fact, recently noted to be high-fashion, in America. There are alternative nets.

Reagan had taken what federal deficit there was, and sent it all off to the already prosperous: Defense contractors, and engineers, instead. Obama took what deficit there was, and sent it all off to the already prosperous, teachers and bureaucracts who had caused it all: In the more recent episodes and versions. The "Make Work Pay Refundable Income Tax Credit," did put spending money into the pockets of the poor. To emphasize the impact, the widely noted, "Cash for Clunkers" put money directly into the pockets of the poor, to spend. Secretary Geithner believes, and so so-states.

The actual Queer Concept of Maynard Keynes was to take what deficit there was, and get the unwashed and yokels to do Public Works--and get nowhere near him(?)! The NFL was not about Maynard Keynes(?)! Somehow, Hollywood got mural painters, out of the New Deal concept. Now they are all called, "Taggers(?)," who are not federally funded(?)! In fact, to counter the New Taggers: The Republicans have managed to everywhere shrink the state and local government ability to counter the "private sector" taggers. The bangers--and WWE, and NBA--"Banned For Life(?)," kind of concept--seems more the teapee party brand. Anyone notices the economic allusion. From a tiny little tent, great trickles are alleged to flow!

Any concept of a Free Market actually has had no chance since the Silver Interest Rates of ancient Sumer.

"Crow, James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred!"
(Anyone notices how deftly the tootsie bimbo brought the more traditional concepts of civilization, back into play. . . .among some people(?)! Congress had trouble with the concept when Clinton I was president. Soon both parties will have no concept of what was going in the Revolution commencing, 1776. Queens the English do have(?), not that National Organization of Women seems to want to so-state(?)!)
