Those that did were given lots of special treatment, higher pay, more time off...didn't have to fight in the war, better food, alcohol, cigarettes, prosititutes etc. etc. This is what it took to get the few who were a part of it to continue to do so.

And you do realize that many, many, many German soldiers took absolutely ZERO part in the holocaust? Many refused, in fact most refused when approached. Those that did were given lots of special treatment, higher pay, more time off...didn't have to fight in the war, better food, alcohol, cigarettes, prosititutes etc. etc. This is what it took to get the few who were a part of it to continue to do so.

That's the sanitatized version of history.
What Hitler did was fully supported by the majority of the German people and a good part of Europe. Even Pope Pius signed on to his madness. There were many countries that happily built death camps for the Jewish people and rounded them up. But they don't like to talk about it today..in fact many will deny it altogether.
