If this trend continues it will be incredibly problematic for the Democrats. They've been hedging their bets on the browning of America to ultimately put them in permanent majority status, but as we've seen over the past couple of years with a sizable shift of Hispanic voters to the GOP, they are no longer buying what the Democratic Party is selling them, at least for now.

According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), 44 percent of Hispanics would vote for President Biden if the 2024 presidential election were held today, and 43 percent would vote for former President Trump.

The breakdown of congressional support among Hispanics finds a similar trend, with support for Democrats and the GOP tied at 37 percent each.

And "woke" white leftists patronizing them with nonsense like this probably doesn't help either

The big indicator seems to be Miami-Dade County in Florida. Historically a very strong Dem area. Biden barely carried that area. The shift is real, no matter how much the usual suspects here will deny it. Hispanic people (those who came here legally) don’t like illegals coming in either. And the economic issues hit everybody, including minority communities.

They also appreciate strength....Masculinity hasn't been wrung out of Hispanic culture to the extent that has been in Anglo culture.

For all the philisophical faults of the populists, they don't shrink from a fight in order to project the facade of being "dignified".

the Mexicans i knew in S.Cal would have backed republicans, but they did not like the way they talk about them...so they said fuck them....

Yeah, that's been problematic for a long time. The far right of the party have repeatedly made Hispanics seem like they aren't welcome within their ranks. George Bush knew that and he put together a massive outreach campaign to Hispanic Americans and it worked. He won 44% of their vote, but when he came up with a common sense plan in his second term, to deal with the illegals who had been here for years and established lives for themselves, that would have brought them out of the shadows and obtained legal status, all of that work was pissed away by his party having an absolute meltdown. That resulted in Obama winning over 70% of them and turning Nevada, Colorado, Virginia, and New Mexico blue, which the Republicans have yet to win back.

I wonder if the democrats' support of abortion has also hurt them, because many latinos are catholic and are pro-life. It may be that this demographic group will be a swing vote, loyal to neither side (as they should). It is projected that latinos will become the majority demographic in a few more decades within the US, so how they vote could have a major impact on American politics in the future. One wonders if other minorites will follow suit.

Bush also nominated a Hispanic to the DC Court of Appeals. The Dems objected for purely garbage reasons. Mostly fear that if he was ever nominated to the SCOTUS they wouldn’t be able to oppose it.

I have worked alongside countless Latinos over the years. Obviously, they aren't all the same, but the unifying theme among them was a strong sense of family.

It seems to me that if you want to appeal to them, do so from a standpoint of supporting strong family bonds.

Basically the same "common sense" plan that Reagan got suckered into ten years earlier....Amnesty with the promise of border enforcement, but the latter never happens.

For all your hollow protestations to the contrary, you may as well be a Xiden chump.

I've met repubs like that in OC, and you're right...I wouldn't support them either.

an example is our fellow poster the loser guy.....

“The GOP better give this country to Mexico or else”...We’ve all heard that...right?

We hear that here often don’t we?
And we hear....”Latinos will be the majority and the GOP will become irrelevant.”

“The GOP better warm up to illegals...because they’ve invaded us to a point where they (their anchors) decide our elections.”

All legit real Republicans hate illegals just as much as I do…RINO’s, establishment bitches and nutless pussies are scared, they tend to toe the line and play the PC bullshit.

Point being that you don't appeal them by fearing that your state is being turned into "Mexifornia"

The language of strong families, work ethic, faith, tradition, and strength in the face of adversaries speak to them better than demanding that they speak English.

In 2020 Trump gained latinos but lost a hell of a lot of white voters that supported him in 2016.
Was the trade worth it?
Make no mistake about it Trump won 2016 on one very aggressive message ‘Stop Mexico’s trash from fucking Americans’.
Not so ironically he toned the ‘fuck Mexico‘ rhetoric down leading in to the last election and lost….hmmmm but, but, but….he won a few Cubans in FL.

Isn’t that what Mexicrats have done….whore our nation out to Mexico for power and relevance?
They’ve put the state of the nation behind winning….you think the GOP should engage in the same antics?
Further, have you ever been to brown areas in southern California / north Mexico?
