The race was closer than I imagined.

Clinton sabotaged her own ambitions by having a private server and foundation accepting foreign
donations that would CREATE the APPEARANCE of conflicting interests.

As anyone like her show KNOW who has worked with lawyers and judges:
you can't even APPEAR to have a conflicting interest, or you are supposed to remove yourself from that situation. All the good lawyers know this, and the dishonest ones don't care.

Even if innocent and not proven guilty, this APPEARANCE of political conflict backfired on her,
which wasn't helped but made worse by no action being taken for classified materials mishandled.

The investigation neither led to punishment for NEGLIGENCE which was well established,
nor did it change the perception of that, regardless what the FBI did or found.

At most the FBI statements came out even, both favoring Clinton in NOT holding her for NEGLIGENCE that was established and never denied,
and also working against her by the public perceptions and announcements that favored the other viewpoint she deserves further action or investigation.

I believe this kept it more balanced, instead of onesided in favor of giving Clinton the benefit of the doubt and a free ride without penalty,
when it was ALREADY established that classified material WAS found in emails that should NEVER have been transmitted by private server.

I think what really lost it for Clinton was the unchecked imposition of leftwing agenda through COURTS while overriding opposition that voted NO to that trend,
coupled with the Celebrity Media image of Trump who used that hype to get people to the polls
to compensate for the risk that too many conservative types who'd rather stay home than vote for Romney wouldn't vote for him either.

The amazing thing to me is not only that Trump outdid Clinton in bringing Trump voters to the polls in more states that made the difference,
but that Trump also survived SPLITS by the Libertarians that had more presence in the media and public this time. Maybe it's because the
Greens and Sanders voters who showed more for Stein also took votes away from Johnson as well.

Trump could have lost if more of those third party voters reduced his votes by splitting the opposition to Clinton.
So that's an achievement also.

Just because there is opposition to Clinton doesn't mean all those people support the same candidate running against her and campaigning for change to govt.
