hey democrats ! are yall ready for 5 dollar a gallon gasoline ?

This is a lie.

Biden is not going to ‘shutdown’ fracking.

And the notion that a president alone, by his actions alone, can change the price of gasoline is as ignorant as it is wrong.
TECHNICALLY speaking, the president does damn near nothing alone. So I guess we shouldn't give credit to any of them for the things done during their presidency.

Edit: Allowing something to happen as a president is in a way doing it. Presidents have ways to stop various actions, and if they choose not to, and support it... Credit of some kind seems deserved.

Apparently not, since I just schooled your ass.
No... You didn't. And again... We both know it.
So basically you're reduced to Pee Wee Herman going "I know you are but what am I". This is exactly why I advised,, know your shit before inserting foot in mouth.

Dismissed.
*grins* Maybe you don't know. Wow... I gave you too much credit. Sure, lets do this. :)

If you increase the supply, the price goes down. Supply and demand. Easy right? A president such as... I think it was Bush, opened up Alaska for drilling... Which increased the supply. Guess what the price did? You know why? Because there was more of it, see first sentence. Obama opened up Fracking...

There for a while the USA WAS the largest exporter of oil.

Notice that link is CNN. You think that had no effect on prices?

Uh ...... no dear. Number one, "we" don't export oil nor do "we" drill for oil. OIL COMPANIES do that, not "countries". Multinatonal companies based in Britain, the US, Russia, China, Holland etc whose allegiance ---AGAIN --- is to the market and their shareholders, not to any flag.

Number two, Bush's own EIA estimated that opening up ANWR would effectively lower the price of a barrel of crude by less than the change in your pocket right now.

>> Additional oil production resulting from the opening of ANWR would be only a small portion of total world oil production, and would likely be offset in part by somewhat lower production outside the United States. The opening of ANWR is projected to have its largest oil price reduction impacts as follows: a reduction in low-sulfur, light crude oil prices of $0.41 per barrel (2006 dollars) in 2026 for the low oil resource case, $0.75 per barrel in 2025 for the mean oil resource case, and $1.44 per barrel in 2027 for the high oil resource case, relative to the reference case. <<
You'll need to learn to see through the bullshit. Opening ANWR doesn't drop the prices in Dubuque, because that's not where it goes. And the friggin' Keystone pipeline doesn't either, all that does is facilitate Canadian crude getting to Houston ----- for refining and export. Export which, again, is done by oil companies, not countries.

Took a president to open up things in which to drill said oil.

Yeah? It took a country's government and leader of said government to increase the supply for said companies. Which is the topic is it not?

Did you miss that the US was for a time the LARGEST EXPORTER OF OIL due to the abilities the government/president gave them to drill.

Come at me.

The topic, insofar as there ever was one seems to be a call to members of a given political party as to whether they're up for paying $5/gallon for gas. For which the OP ---- who ran away ---- has no basis, QED.

And just to twist the knife a bit further, the fact that a government opens or does not open some area for drilling..... hope you're sitting down for this........... doesn't mean some oil company automatically starts drilling. And if they do, that product goes to a refining system already at capacity so the surplus is essentially moot.

I agree with that. But obviously not for the same reasons.

No it's not. ROFL

RIGHT NOW commodity traders are booking tankers to store crude oil... Too much of it. You think that has no effect on the prices? Hell... If there is ANOTHER lockdown you think the price will stay the same? *laughs*

Edit: Are you suggesting that the President has no right to lock down the country?

What makes you think that the stupidity of California won't contaminate the rest of the country if the democrats steal the election?

Sorry, but I don't think the sky is falling.

Biden's going to be the next President. Stolen or not, that's what's going to happen.

I don't see that having much impact on whether or not the lunacy of California permeates the rest of the country...

are democrats going to be happy paying 5 bucks a gallon at the pump ? i mean the guy they voted for said he's going to crack down on the fossil fuel industry ! https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...n-draws-gop-attacks-with-call-transition-oil/
How were gas prices under Obama? Why would you assume things would be significantly different under Biden?

Gasoline prices were a lot higher under Obama than they are now.
Really? How much higher? Cause last I checked the gas prices during Obama’s last two years were lower than Trumps and nowhere near $5. Why would things change so dramatically under Biden?

How is transitioning from oil to renewable sources going to raise the price of oil?

The price of gas is basic law of supply and demand which is largely controlled by OPEC and the US with fracking.

If supply exceeds demand then prices fall, when demand exceeds supply then prices tend to rise. Unless you have a monopoly and you can make your own price.

As such demand will always be there unless electric cars are able to take off and become viable. This may lead to lower gas prices as a way of making the current automobiles a better choice than electric.
Unless.....

Don't worry, I won't hold My breath waiting on you to figure it out.

Well tell me how you figured it out

If the transition away from oil happened in an organic way, then yes it shouldn’t affect the price of oil and gas.
But that’s not what the government under the democrats plan. They don’t plan on oil naturally being phased out as better things come along. They plan to tax and regulate to force us to use less, to transition us to other fuels. Fuels that are expensive (biodiesel), unreliable (wind, solar).
This forced transition will be expensive, and it will also further handicap out manufacturing ability, sending more of it overseas.
What’s comical about the whole thing is if you look at the statistics/charts worldwide regarding pollution (in this case CO2 pollution which the left screams about but is not very relevant compared with water vapor), we are barely a mouse fart in a room full of elephants. China and India pump out more in a day than we do in a month or so. Same with most types of pollution. I believe it was 90% of the plastic products in the sea come from China and India... yet here we are banning straws.
It’s a bad move. It will make barely any impact on a global scale, but it will further hamstring our nation.
If the liberals were at all serious, they be pushing nuclear power advancements and batteries. That would get us off oil by a very large degree. But they aren’t serious. The ones at the top use it as a talking point to leverage into more power and control. The fools among the plebs (us) parrot the “clean air, clean water, global warming” bullshit ad nauseam as here we are.

Like most of us suspect, you can bet Hoe Hidin will limit fracking. Whether it’s taxes, regulations, encouraging states to ban it, whatever. I’d bet on it.

well oil and gas are subsidized to the tune of 10.7 billion by the taxpayer. Yet these are the same oil and gas companies that are making big money from exploration and production

Still the highest price at the pump was 3.62 in 2012 due to the recession and had dropped to 2.12 by 2016.

This money comes from the taxpayer that props ups the oil and gas industry. Yeah you got to love free enterprise that depends on the government or the people to pay for it using taxes.

this includes direct spending subsidies where the oil/gas industry does not have to pay taxes that other business not in the oil/gas industry have to pay , royalty relief subsidies which directly reduces tax income for the government from oil and gas extraction by making deals with lawmakers, and regulatory subsidies.

all are socialist solution or socialism by any other name that even republicans are a party to and support.

specific rewards and support from the government under the name of subsidies.

The great shale and oil boom began under Obama a democrat. He did not stop it. He did limited it from federal lands. Still even with this limitation, oil production increased to the levels of today.

But in the end the economy runs on oil and gas and it is not going going to stop in the foreseeable future.

Renewable energy should be given the same support as oil and gas industry. Let time be the deciding factor.

Well the gov makes more money off a gallon of gas than the oil companies.

Xiden's $5 gas will surely thin traffic. I like that.
But the real thinning will come under Presiden Xarris when all internal combustion engines will be "bought back" under a mandatory "fair" price offer.

Clinton put the economy into recession with his tax increases...which Bush had to deal with, then the democrats wrecked the housing market, due to clinton's housing policies, that crashed the market during Bush's term in office.......obama set the middle east on fire and created the worst mass regugee problem in Europe since WW2......you are an idiot.

Uh, okay... I know that you live in some alternate world... But the REcession of 2001 didn't start until 2001, when Clinton was long gone.

The Housing Market didn't collapse until 2008, when Bush was almost out the door.

You know, maybe Darkwind had a point... you guys look kind of silly when you try to defend this stuff.

Tell you what. Just let Biden fix the economy like Obama and Clinton did, then you can get stupid white people upset about guns, abortions, gays or some other bullshit issue....

Then you can toss Trump on the pile of "Presidents you totally disown" like you have with the Bushes and Ford and Nixon.
