In order to register to vote in Georgia, you must meet the following five requirements...​

• Be a United States citizen.
• You have to be a resident of Georgia and live in the county and voting precinct where you will vote.
• You can register to vote when you are 17.5 years old, but you must be 18 years old by Election Day to vote.
• If you have been convicted of a felony you must be "Off Paper" to register. "Off Paper" means that you've completed your sentence (including incarceration, probation, parole, and any period on non-report status).
• If you have been declared mentally incompetent by a judge, you cannot register to vote in Georgia.

There are no length of residency requirements in Georgia, so if you have just moved here you can register to vote on day one. However, moving to Georgia with the express purposes of voting without any intent to remain a resident is illegal and can result in prosecution (see O.G.C.A. § 21-2-561).
