I'm samiam5211.
I live just outside Memphis, Tn.
I consider myself a utilitarian libertarian.
I believe that the American people and their desire to focus on blame on individuals coupled with an increasing lack of interest in educating themselves is the only thing wrong with this country with regard to our government.
Our politics is candidate and party focused rather than idea focused. We argue with one another about who's "guy" is best or over how the other side's "guy" is ruining the country. This focus on the individuals creates an environment where the most effective political tactics involve tearing down the individual's character, intent, or associations, rather than their ideas.
Anyhow, this place seems more civil than the last place I tried out, so I hope to contribute in some way.
