Has Trump ever taken responsibility?

because we're talking overall, not this one metric. i can't say "trump never accepts responsibility" if i can do adequate research into his entire past. you can say he didn't take it for CORONA but that's not the same as "never takes it" now is it?

So, you reduce the issue to testing, and then claim it's necessary to talk "overall".

I note, you didn't react with a single syllable to what I was saying.

I also note you didn't understand what was at issue there. A president's duty is NOT (surprise) to organize the creation of a test. It is to get competent people (as opposed to goons, loyalists, yes-men and cronies) to work for him in the national interest, and in a well-coordinated way. That's a thing you might have understood in the face of a pandemic response exercise that revealed catastrophic flaws in the nation's pandemic response, and no effort to correct that, while claiming no one could have seen a pandemic coming. The last one happened just over a decade ago. And yes, the buck stops with the president. He who would not fill crucial government positions (to save money), would disband crucial entities who would have been tasked with coordinating a competent response, would opt to defund the NHS and the CDC, most notably their presence in CHINA, and would not listen to, and breezily dismiss, folks who advised him on the coming pandemic.

Here, read the true words by an ultra-liberal, detailing it from the start to finish, and even that picture of complete and utter failure isn't complete.

Now, iceberg, run along. I am not, and will likely never be, a gentle, utterly admirable person of seemingly inexhaustibe patience, as is Coyote. That is my fault. Still, I have neither the time nor the patience to put up with your sanctimonious whines that everyone is so nasty toward your Dear Leader, and his hopelessly pathetic sycophants. Not while Americans are dying by the hundreds and thousands, paying the ultimate price for Trump's criminal negligence and incompetence.
In that case I will dumb it down for you.

Fuck off.
Could not have said it better myself     :clap::thup:

yet this thread started out because trump said he didn't take responsibility for Covid19. Only, that wasn't the question he was asked when he gave that answer. as usual, many on the left take that answer and apply it "liberally" to anything they feel like applying it to so they can "giggle" at trumps stupidity.

go back and listen to the news reporter and listen CAREFULLY to what the question was. then tell me how trump was responsible for that.

then - and this is an impossibility - stop making up shit to apply his answers to.

"I take no responsibility at all."

That was as good an occasion as any for an accounting as to Trump's relation to his job. What this thread uncovered is, Trump "takes responsibility" for everything that goes well, no matter whether he actually had anything to do with it. There is no evidence whatsoever he ever took responsibility for anything going awry.

The latest installment is Trump's effort to depict himself as the hero standing between Americans and millions of deaths (in case there were no mitigation efforts), and whatever it is the models predict at this time. That is, he's taking responsibility for the fact there is a federal government, populated by people who know their job, the most knowledgeable of whom he has not appointed, and to whom he didn't listen for far too long.

That's a record both so gruesome and laughable as to be one for the history books. The Trumpish bobble-heads are all-in. Not a single one found it in themselves to acknowledge the record, or to go for a proper accounting. All the more strident was their whining about any and all insinuations there be one. That's another aspect to be added to the definition of "deplorable".

Can you provide some examples then?

Taking responsibility is an important part of leadership.
Taking responsibility for a lie created by the media isn't part of being a good leader.
Are you saying all his bad policy rollouts ad outcomes are lies created by media?
You might have to list them because I don't think anything he's rolled out is bad....maybe bad for Anti-American Democrats who side against their own country in favor of China and Russia....but not bad for me.
I already listed a few of them in this thread.
You could put some in bullet comments and give me some idea what bad stuff Trump rolled out.
Why.!so you can cowardly run off and evade the evidence as you always do with facts on the corruption of Reagan and the republicans.? :rolleyes-41:

True, as I said initially, given what you presented I would not hold him responsible for that delay.

Here is how you yourself outlined the way in which he is in fact responsible for the delayed and bungled testing:

"2. I'm not even sure how to word this one so I'll be blunt - complete and ongoing bungling in delegating, assigning qualified people, retaining qualified people, and heeding the advice of qualified people when it comes to addressing this crisis. Multiple changes in leadership of multiple and competing (and often not communicating) groups attempting to work on this has created a morass of conflicts and inaction. Not listening to, and in fact outright contradicting the public advice of his chosen experts has led to public confusion and contradictory policies. This is not unique to this situation - it's reflective of Trump's overall approach to organization in his Administration, but in this particular case the repercussions become obvious and can cost lives. This is a situation where having a "bureaucracy" is beneficial - having people who know how the system works, what strings to pull, and who to go to is important. And speaking with ONE voice is critical. We have an undisciplined president publicly contradicting his own experts - that does not lead to confidence this crisis is being well handled."

For if you hire unqualified goofs, loyalists, all speaking over the other pursuing vastly different aims, no good result will be achieved. Trump is not the head of the CDC, tasked with overseeing the development of tests. He is tasked with assembling teams that coordinate well, and have the qualifications and skills to get the job done.

And this is how a competent administration, headed by one who actually cares for the job and how it impacts others, works on that matter:

Though the H1N1 virus had begun spreading in Mexico, the first case in the United States was detected on April 15, 2009, in a 10-year-old patient in California. Two days later, CDC laboratory testing confirmed a second infection in an 8-year-old also living in California. Within one week, the CDC had activated its Emergency Operations Center to respond to what it had identified as an emerging public health threat.
Before the end of April, the government had declared a public health emergency and started releasing medical supplies and drugs from the CDC’s Strategic National Stockpile. “The real-time PCR test developed by CDC was cleared for use by diagnostic laboratories by FDA under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) on April 28, 2009, less than two weeks after identification of the new pandemic virus,” the CDC notes on its website.

Two weeks. That's how to get ahead of a pandemic, how to jump-start pervasive testing, and get ahead with the development with both educating the public and the development of medication / vaccines.

Trump, meanwhile, was out campaigning, was fighting twitter wars, almost got into a real war with Iran, and also did not forget to fire people who crossed him during the impeachment he brought upon himself.

Because Trump, as we got to learn, cares about the "big stuff" - like his reelection.
Wish I could mark this as informative...
why? saying trump was out fighting twitter wars and "other" things to imply he wasn't working on this is as bad as saying the democrats impeachment shenanigans caused a delay also.

may sound good as a talking point but it doesn't hold water under examination.

this is just someone bitter justifying it by trying to tie ends together emotionally, not factually.

Well, I would say he points out several things (ignoring the stuff about twitter wars) and it boils down to two important themes: getting a jump start on the pandemic and a timely well planned and coordinated response (and this goes back to leadership, choosing qualified people and following their advice).

The timeline for H1N1 could have provided a template for today’s epidemic had Trump taken it seriously from the start.
Yep....ignore it...the press will too......because the press doesn't want him to look bad.
Good fucking luck with that BS.
You would no,you are the expert at ignoring the corruption of Reagan and the republican party :laughing0301: :lmao:

Post 265 of this thread. And - it's not about the policies themselves (obviously we will disagree there) - it's about how they were rolled out and implemented that was badly done.
Anyone can be critical by being an armchair QB.
Try making suggestions on how to improve on something everyone seems to have been surprised by....including House Democrats who were busy impeaching Trump even though many of them had already been briefed on the virus.

Sure...but let's see....when did you ever do that? You had no problem being critical of Obama without offering improvements so that doesn't wash.

Clinton was able to work, and was handling the crisis in Kosovo during his impeachment. That is no excuse.

In addition, both examples I provided of badly done rollouts and policies were prior to impeachment. Do you have anything to say related to those examples?
Clinton had a problem with going overseas and throwing his weight around. I was deployed to Somalia when he took over the operation. In no time it quickly turned to shit. Instead of a peace-keeping mission, it turned into a armed forces expeditionary mission....a hunt for a warlord. Bill Clinton helped assassinate dozens of tribal leaders when they were trying to sue for peace. So the place turned into a Hornet's nest for us. When I first got there we could walk down the street unmolested , but after Bill Clinton...we had to wear armored vests and travel in tactical formation. We discovered why every other country sent their troops with fully armored APCs....and we were the only ones driving around in un-armored vehicles.

When it comes to Obama....we can all agree his roll-out of Obamacare was a total disaster. My suggestion to him would be not to fuck with the system that was working....but he was trying to take over 2/3rds of the economy through Single-payer health care. We can both admit Obama was a socialist but was afraid of it getting out. The issues I had with him are too numerous to list....and not one of them had to do with the color of his skin.
Yet Obama had the exact same policy’s of your hero bush and yet you always give bushwhacker a free pass despite the fact he drew up the patriot act which took away our civil libertys and has has made us a police state ever since.love how you also forgot to mention Romney was one of the first people who signed obamacare :lmao: your hypocrisy and bias towards the republicans always ignoring their corruption gives the human race a bad name,my ass your not a fucking racist.:fu:
