He seems to believe he has, or he wants us to believe he has. CBS's Lara Logan disagrees. You might remember her as the reporter that was kidnapped, beaten and raped in Egypt.

<snip>

“I chose this subject because, one, I can’t stand, that there is a major lie being propagated…” Logan announced. The lie is that the U.S. military has tamed the Taliban.

“There is this narrative coming out of Washington for the last two years,” Logan began. It is driven in part by “Taliban apologists,“ who claim ”they are just the poor moderate, gentler, kinder Taliban.”

“It’s such nonsense!”

<snip>

“You’re not listening to what the people who are fighting you say about this fight. In your arrogance, you think you write the script.”

The CBS foreign correspondent, who broke with her traditional journalist’s role and actually shared her personal opinion with the group, also called for retribution for the slaying of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, two Navy SEALs and one additional U.S. civil servant in Libya.

According to the Sun Times, Logan hopes America will “exact revenge and let the world know that the United States will not be attacked on its own soil. That its ambassadors will not be murdered, and that the United States will not stand by and do nothing about it.

He thinks he has. In a speech in California he said they did 3 things and things are fine

1) He ended the war in Iraq
2) He killed Bin Laden
3) There in the process of ending the war in Afghanistan

The rest is history the Obama world. In the real world it is not over. In my opinion it will never be over it can only be controlled a lot better

The war in Iraq and Afghanistan is still following the Bush time table. BUT, obama scrapped the methodology of withdrawal so we are slowly withdrawing and leaving the Taliban and Al Quaeda in charge and more violent than ever.

obama did not kill Bin Laden.

The worst part is so many on the left believe this BS and the liberal media won't call him out on it. He's a liar and a threat to every American. Just look how he and his justice department have handled Brian Terry and now the debacle in Lybia.

Obama doesn't give a flying flip about Americans, he only wants your vote. You've been successfully ORGANIZED if you vote for him.

Has Obama tamed the Taliban and al Qaeda

He seems to believe he has, or he wants us to believe he has.

"tamed" may not be the correct word for either, but they have certainly been subdued.

Do you really believe that?? Really?? If anything they have gotten stronger and are taking over governments in the Mid East. Keep drinking the kool-aid, you'll be dead from that drone attack soon anyway.

How right you are. The taliban was subdued at one time. Now they are regaining their strength and numbers.

What he tamed is the US medias reporting on the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and even Egypt! Afghanistan is shit, has always been shit and will remain that way (what we should have done was give Afghanistan a "Russian-like-beating-of-Georgia sledge hammer hit of Afghanistan, then left having them clean up the mess! Libya is in chaos and has been the way since Gaddaffi fell. That was predictable by most people (the devil we knew was 100 fold better than that devil we have now)! Egypt is bankrupt and unemployment is spiking. The reason you heard from the Obama media that the Egyptians couped Murbarak was because of the job market (like that would solve the unemployment - dumbass muslims) and now it's 100 fold worse), they will be headed towards a Syria civil war in the future. Iraq is headed back to sectarian fighting! Yet the media is mum on this. You honestly hear very little about the Syria masscrue and 10s of thousands of people have been killed. If Israel strikes terrorists to stop missile attacks, you have the media everywhere reporting inch by inch what happen, applying a double standard towards Israel.

The media is who Obama tamed not the followers of Islam!

The Taliban is just waiting for our troops to leave AStan.

Of course we've already let them know just when that will be. Another blunder. This is Barry's war after all.

Can't say I'm sorry our men and women in uniform are leaving. We've spilled enough blood and treasure in that shithole.

The only bright spot will be Karsai getting the axe. Who knows. Perhaps he'll hang onto his head.

As the turmoil in the Mid East grows and begins to boil over, we can all thank Obama for thinking they would listen if he just talked to them, bowed to them and led from behind.

The Taliban hasn't been tamed in nigh on 30 years. Russians couldn't do it, Brits couldn't do it and we sure as hell haven't done it. Guerrilla regimes have always and probably will remain tough to eradicate or contain simply because of their unpredictable nature. Obama didn't even get close and Karzai made him look soft quite a few times, showing his contempt for him in the process. At least under Bush, Karzai at least looked under control and under our thumb even if he continued to undermine him.

Same goes for Al Qaeda if not more.We were able to drive them out of areas we didn't want them in, but as soon as we left Iraq, the ones we missed came right back and caused trouble.

McCain would've done no more about either group than Obama was able to do and I don't think Romney will either should he win. This isn't a matter of just sending in scores of troops to eradicate everything Taliban or Al Qaeda...these groups have really deep roots in this region and we'd just be weedwacking them. They'll grow again and again. If they're going to be stopped, it has to come from within the region itself IMO

How can any US President say they "tamed" Al Qaida when the US supports them in the Middle East?

Some base commanders have rebelled and violated obama's orders by allowing military personnel on base to be armed.

Has Obama tamed the Taliban and al Qaeda ?

Of course not. We need a lying chicken hawk like Mittens the Cult Bishop for THAT job!

AND it won't cost us a dime.. Romney will just shoot a memo up to planet Kolob and HIS god's gonna smite the taliban.. No problems!

:clap2: Romney!...Romney! He's our man.. If he can't do it

NOBODY CAN!!!!!!!!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
