Harriet Tubman - $20?

Kids do and ask questions.

Remove the author of the Federalist Papers? IDK

Just add another bill. No sense in removing someone IMO.

The only reason why Hamilton wasn't removed, was because he had a hit musical and was popular again.

Which is a petty reason to decide who gets bumped.

So let's review...

$1 - Washington- can't remove him, obviously. That said, we need to stop printing dollar bills and replace them with dollar coins. We'd save billions by doing this.
$2 - Jefferson- Nobody uses this bill, but he'd be a good candidate because he raped his slaves.
$5 - Lincoln - Our greatest president, so, um, no.
$10 - Hamilton- I'm all for keeping him, because we wouldn't even have a treasury system without him.
$20 - Jackson- Racist, Crazy person, genocidal maniac. Also, reminds me too much of Trump. Besides, he was against the printing of paper money to start with. Off he goes.
$50 - Grant- Maybe a good person to replace, because while he was a great general, his presidency was notoriously corrupt.
$100 - Ben Franklin - Not a president. Kind of a cool guy, though. Could be a good candidate for replacement.

Now, people we COULD put on the money.

FDR (Although he's already on the dime)
Teddy Roosevelt
Ronald Reagan

For non-presidents
Fredrick Douglas
Susan B. Anthony
Andrew Jackson is one of the primary reasons the US expanded all the way to the west coast as quickly as it did and one of the primary reasons we have states like Louisiana. He reminds you of Trump because he was a strong man who made tough decisions, I get it.
Yeah, but she helped 100 people once.

Seems that way
If we are being honest, Bill Gates has helped a lot more people than Tubman ever did. He deserves to be on the 20 more than her.
Why not Dick Best? Hero of the battle of Midway or Patton?

Poor Andrew Jackson. Then again who still uses money? Its mostly electronic these days. Still replacing a former president just to feed the leftists hunger seems like a horrible idea. I would not have an issue creating a $25 bill with HT on it.
A bone to the "people of color"

And I use cash almost always

In 245 years, with the exception of Benjamin Franklin, US currency has had dead presidents on it. I would not be adverse to Tubman being put on the 1$ coin--It seems to be the coin that has been chosen to highlight non-presidents--Sacajawea. Coinage has featured non-presidents many times during our history--native Americans, First ladies and so on. I think currency should feature dead presidents ONLY

BTW, I still use cash. I don't own an ATM card and I believe in keeping a good stock of precious metals--platinum, gold-----lead.
I barely ever. All electronic just about
My daughter tells me I'm a dinosaur, but so be it. Had a bad experience with ATM in the late 80's or early 90's and I figured cash has always worked with no problems and it continues to this day.

She was never a president--she doesn't rate being on any money.
Was Ben Franklin a President?

Around here you can only purchase lottery tickets and gamble at the Indian casinos with cash. In a sense, Andrew Jackson was not unlike Donald Trump (before we realized Trump was actually a Deep State, Israel-first president, like most post WWII presidents) in that Andrew Jackson was an outsider and was concerned that "moneyed power" [Sheldon Adelson obviously] has no right dictating American domestic and international policy. Tubman in contrast, if she actually was not a fake character invented like others who allegedly wrote books when evidence indicates they are frauds, was basically an early, ghetto, scam artist. According to Wikileaks, her main objective was to obtain as many taxpayer income flows as possible. I checked my vintage Encyclopedia Britannica and there is not entry for Tubman. Allegedly many African Americans wanted nothing to do "escaping" since they were housed, fed and could fuck as much as they wanted after doing chores on the plantation. So "escape" to what?

Jackson only hated banks because he was another dumbass who speculated in a real estate bubble and lost his ass trying to get rich on borrowed money, and the evil bankers made him pay them back. As far as Presidents go Jackson wasn't half bad, but he was no saint nor was he all that smart. He bought at the top of the market right before a crash.

Tubman is a fine addition to the $20. And the money all spends the same.

Creating a new currency for Harriet Tubman would be great. Have we ever replaced someone on s currency? Can anyone justify why it is necessary to be a replacement and why it must be Andrew Jackson?

Meh. PC pandering is both silly and unnecessary.

Tubman on the 20 demonstrates the importance of black folks in our shared history.

Its a small gesture. But still too much for those that think that our money should only include old white guys.

Not surprisingly you are missing the point. No one debates the woman's bravery. You are turning it into an "old White guy" narrative. It is a small gesture and the gesture appears to be the middle finger to another brave important figure from our history.

It's pandering to placate fools who think it actually means anything of substance.
BTW, I don't care either way. Just calling it as I see it.
