For all of California's problems, disasters, and liberal insanity, it does not suck completely.

This is a December / Christmas time BIRTHDAY story.

In LA a little girl wrote her local Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control. She asked them for a 'Unicorn License' so she could own one if she happened to find one. She also asked if the Animal Care and Control Department could possibly help her find one.

It would have been easy for the Department to 'round file' the letter and never respond. Instead, the Director of the agency wrote back.

He told the little girl that their department does license unicorns and gave her a list of requirements she must meet to obtain a Unicorn license that included:

'Access to sunlight, moonbeams and rainbows for the unicorn; weekly watermelon feeding; and use of non-toxic glitter only.'

She was also sent her a small stuffed unicorn and told her once the requirements had been met she could get her license.

On Dec 27th, the LA Director of the Animal Care and Control Department provided the county's official unicorn license, as well as a giant plush unicorn, to Madeline on her seventh birthday.

Happy Birthday, and Merry Christmas Madeline!

A huge 'Attaboy' to the the LA Animal Care and Control Department for a small gesture that made a huge impact to a little girl!

In the midst of rising energy costs and the struggle to pay bills, a local bakery is letting residents of the community bake Christmas cakes in its ovens.

“It’s a whole community coming together to support each other," says Brickyard Bakery owner Ed Hamilton-Trewhitt.'
