Happy Independence Day! A message

I am a proud American. I am proud to be a God-fearing Christian. I am proud to be white and LGBT (yes, I am bi).

I am thankful to have my own opinions and the ability to have pride in who I am. That pride will not be stifled because of my skin color or my political views.

I will not be owned or possessed by one political movement or another. I will think independently, nor will I be told how to think because of what I am or what I believe in.

You have your opinion, I have mine. But whatever your opinions or beliefs are, I will fight for your right to have them. I WON'T BE THE ONE FIGHTING TO TAKE THEM AWAY.
