If you studied history at all, you know Hannibal of Carthage, who successfully beat the shit out of Rome during his assault on the Italian Peninsula at the start of the 2nd Punic War. But, when you look at contemporary artistic depictions, he looks like a white dude.

Carthage won a few battles in Italy under Hannibal during the 3rd Century, but Hannibal ended up getting his ass kicked by the italians.
