My wife, & grandson are on base surrounded by fellow soldiers, vets, patriots, and their families listening to a local band, kids riding rides, food being shared from local area sources that have come together, fireworks starting, families in foldout chairs and on blankets on the grassy park, everyone remembering friends and family deployed, celebrating the recent return of combat vets, and everyone celebrating together like family on this huge 4th of July Bash...
Wish all of you could be here ...
This is a celebration of our independence and of the greatest nation in the world. We aren't perfect, but we are all Americans - brothers and sisters. It's especially meaningful here, surrounded by friends I have been in the thick of it with many times, by guys who are doing the same now.
