As far as I know, only three Presidents did not use a bible when taking the oath of office.

John Quincy Adams used a law book.

Teddy Roosevelt did not use anything.

LBJ used a Catholic missil after JFK assassination. Possibly because there was no bible on Air Force One.





Obama used Lincoln's King James Bible.

Swearing on the Bible was the tradition. We can work something out without the Bible. We could use the US Constitution or do a cartwheel.

One can lie just as well with their hand on a bible as with their hand on anything else or nothing.

Rmoney would swear on a book, but unfortunately the lending library it came from took it back. Really too bad, because it would be fascinating to see the reformed hieroglyphs. Maybe if he contacted Moroni and had it delivered to the debate, more people would be convinced to vote for him.
