The Private Option Health Care Act gives control of health care back into the hands of individuals through tax credits and tax deductions, improving Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Savings Accounts. Specifically, the bill:

A. Provides all Americans with a tax credit for 100% of health care expenses. The tax credit is fully refundable against both income and payroll taxes;
B. Allows individuals to roll over unused amounts in cafeteria plans and Flexible Savings Accounts (FSA);
C. Provides a tax credit for premiums for high-deductible insurance policies connected with a Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and allows seniors to use funds in HSAs to pay for medigap policies;
D. Repeals the 7.5% threshold for the deduction of medical expenses, thus making all medical expenses tax deductible.

This legislation would also repeal Obamacare.

Americans are sick of scammy tax credit schemes and deductions.

You're not repealing Healthcare reform either. It's too little, too late for your side to be offering up lame solutions.

We're going to have to wait for the courts to decide the legalities of some portions of the bill.

You are not going to repeal anything..

The GOP had a chance to establish a healthcare plan for 8 years, they chose to block all proposals

The GOP had a chance to include key provisions in the existing Health Plan, they chose to try to block it

What makes you think they will do anything now?

Well obviously this is not going to pass. It's a Democratically controlled Congress, and this probably won't even make it out of committee. And of course the GOP won't get behind repealing Obamacare, because they're the same as the Democratic Party.

If they are the same as the Democratic Party, why do they vote the opposite on every bill?

Is this a joke? How is a fully refundable tax credit for 100% of health care expenses going to save any money, for starters? The rest of the perks, if ever allowed to pass, would deplete the Treasury down to near nothing. Has Ron Paul lost his mind, finally?

In the name of extreme ideology. As long as the words "private sector" appear somewhere, it doesn't matter how costly both in terms of money or shattered lives.

How does that make them the same if they support opposite ideologies?

They don't support opposite ideologies, they both support big government.

Nobody supports small government...it just makes a good campaign slogan

Even the Tea Baggers want smaller government....only if it doesn't affect social security, or medicare, or vetrans benefits or defense.....

All people want smaller government in the areas they don't benefit from

We need to get government out of our hospital rooms
:clap2:

Exactly!! I don't like Obamacare and I won't like Repubcare either!! If you think for one moment that the Democrats passed the Health Care Reform because they care; you are sadly mistaken! It was a power grab! If Republicans could get something passed; I hope you don't think that will be because they care! Politicians are corrupt! Our two party system is corrupt and has failed us! It has left us divided and unable to come together on just about every issue imaginable! The two parties have fought for control over everything, just so the other party can't get it!

Until Americans start thinking for themselves and not what thier party of choice tells them, we will continue down this path!

No, some people genuinely want smaller government all around. They just don't work in Washington, D.C.

You are partially correct! Both parties support big government and will continue to compete for more power. This is a fault of our two party system. However; with that said, there are Americans who support a smaller government, but we are past the point of no return and our voices go unheard! All of the New Deal era government entitlement programs are here to stay and will never stop until we are broke and can no longer afford to finance them! The politicians are corrupt and only concerned with more control.

You listed defense in your above comment, but the defense of the homeland is a constitutional requirement and is the responsibility of the government! The other programs you listed should not be under the control of the government or should not exist!

We can not solely place the blame on our government either! We Americans slowly began to grow lazy after the Depression era, thanks in part to the government entitelment programs that came to life during the same timeframe. Today, anytime things get hard, Americans go to Uncle Sam and ask for a hand out rather than work out their problems.

we collect about 1 trillion a year in income tax, we spend nearly $900 billion a year on defense....there IS BIG WASTE in the Defense area of our budget AS well as other areas.

The constitution does NOT support a standing Army....

they understood the military industrial complex, even back then.

Sorry....the government you advocate went away about 80 years ago and is not coming back. The US is now a modern society with modern problems. The days of growing up and living you life on the family farm have passed.
The type of government you seem to want is no longer possible
