Gun Group Plans To 'Hunt Down The Republicans' Who Opposed Texas Open Carry Bill

The nutters will eat their own...

After Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) announced on Tuesday that there were not enough votes in the state senate to pass a bill allowing residents to open carry handguns, a state gun group responded with threats.

Tarrant County Open Carry said it will not accept the lawmakers' decision to drop the bill for now and plans to identify Republican lawmakers who do not support the legislation.

"Well, it's time to hunt down the Republicans who don't support the Constitution and the Republican Platform," the group wrote on Facebook. "Then, we will expose them and help them find a new job by making sure they won't have a chance to ever get elected in Texas again. Time to start sending these people to California."

The group encouraged supporters to call their state senators and find those "who are not listening to the #WeThePeople."

"Dan Patrick said there is not enough support in the Senate. What?!?!!? Not enough support for the Constitution? The job they swore to uphold? We have 20 Republican Senators. Are they listening to lobbyist and gun organizations who are pro money?.... or the people?" the group wrote.

What little the nutters really understand about Constitutional Law and precedent is staggering...

So it's different when the anti-gun nutters go after pro-gun politicians? Is it different when feminists go after anti-abortion pols? How about when gay rights activists go after pols for their defense of marriage stance? Both sides do it, but apparently “nutters” are those whose thoughts differ from yours.

Rather than being hunted down, targeted and intimidated by the gun nuts, I think everyone who understands the dangers of adding more guns to already gun-riddled communities should join the NRA!

Think about it. The NRA has about 4 million members. If 4,500,000 Liberals joined up, we could march into their next meeting and make some substantial changes.

The first change I would advocate is a return to the original mandate of the NRA. that is to be an organization that promotes gun safety for sportsmen. Stop being a lobbyist for gun manufacturers and promoting everything from guns in the classroom to cop killer bullets. Fire Wayne LaPierre. Stop making contributions to politicians.

Put the strongest gun lobby back in its original box.

It would be nice if they'd only shoot each other but they usually hit innocent bystanders too.

Seems to me this group is exercising their lawful rights as citizens to participate in the election process, something you libs say you champion and defend so what's the problem?

ADDED TO IGNORE LIST

I have been saying for while that gun nutters are their own worst enemies. That their fanaticism would cause them more harm than good. Now even Texas is looking at these gun nutters and having to rethink their gun positions.

Gotta like that.

Oh, looky it's a typical hazel hyperbole thread. They want to remove them from office and send them back to California. It's amazing what hazel doesn't know about the Constitution.

No one is opposed to folks participating in the political process. Just the politics of guns for everybody.

The left has a habit of attempting to silence and suppress the rights of those they disagree with, while defending the free speech and rights of those they agree with.

If you can make the majority of folks actually believe that adding guns to a gun addled society is the answer, go ahead and make it! If you can make the argument that a school teacher must pack heat, make the argument. If you think that every citizen should openly carry a handgun for their own safety, make the argument.

But don't 'hunt down' legislators or 'target' congressmen because they find your arguments irresponsible.

Maybe you should do some research to find out what the proposed law said before you really make yourself look like more of an informed ass.

The founders of this great nation gave us the 2nd amendment hence the onus is on gun haters to make an argument. So go ahead make your argument, amend the U.S. Constitution if you have the stones. lol

There are PLENTY of examples of infringement of citizens rights to bear arms. Where's your thermonuclear warhead? Where's your rocket propelled grenade launcher?

The biggest problem gun nuts have with the 2nd amendment is the very first phrase of it, a phrase they hardly ever quote when citing the amendment, to wit: A well-regulated militia being, being necessary to the security of a free State;!

Let's make sure that weapons of war are in the hands of well regulated militias, not on the streets. Keep all the hunting rifles and shotguns you want.

I'll let Justice Scalia make the argument, if you don't mind:

(since SCOTUS decisions are the law, they are the Constitution)

District of Columbia v Heller - Justice Scalia

Like most rights, the Second Amendment right is not unlimited. It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose: For example, concealed weapons prohibitions have been upheld under the Amendment or state analogues. The Court’s opinion should not be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms. Miller’s holding that the sorts of weapons protected are those “in common use at the time” finds support in the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of dangerous and unusual weapons.

Don't get mad at me I didn't write the 2nd amendment. In your previous post you suggested that gun control advocates had a majority, if that's true then you won't have any trouble amending the U.S. Constitution right. Why waist all this time and energy trying to undermine the Constitution when you can just amend it? Unless you really don't have a majority which I suspect is the case. Sucks to be you man what can I say.
