Utah’s Largest Paper Endorses Obama, Blasts ‘Too Many Mitts’ :eusa_clap:

The title of the Editorial says it all for me: "Too Many Mitts"

Salt Lake Tribune

In an editorial entitled "Too Many Mitts," the paper castigated Romney for his frequent reinventions and changes of position:

From his embrace of the party’s radical right wing, to subsequent portrayals of himself as a moderate champion of the middle class, Romney has raised the most frequently asked question of the campaign: "Who is this guy, really, and what in the world does he truly believe?"

The evidence suggests no clear answer, or at least one that would survive Romney’s next speech or sound bite. Politicians routinely tailor their words to suit an audience. Romney, though, is shameless, lavishing vastly diverse audiences with words, any words, they would trade their votes to hear
.

The Tribune endorsed Obama in 2008 and George W. Bush in 2004.

Utah's biggest newspaper just endorsed...Barack Obama for President. WOW. This might be devastating for Mitt Romney.

Nowhere has Mitt Romney’s pursuit of the presidency been more warmly welcomed or closely followed than here in Utah. After all, Romney managed to save the state from ignominy, turning the extravaganza into a showcase for the matchless landscapes, volunteerism and efficiency that told the world what is best and most beautiful about Utah and its people.

In short, this is the Mitt Romney we knew, or thought we knew, as one of us.

Politicians routinely tailor their words to suit an audience. Romney, though, is shameless, lavishing vastly diverse audiences with words, any words, they would trade their votes to hear.

This is THE SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, in the nation's reddest state! And it is positively excoriating Romney for abandoning his principles in order to court and assuage various groups of people at various times. This is brutal and speaks to why Obama detests this man on a visceral and political level: Mitt Romney is a man without conviction; without a steady moral compass. That is a dangerous man to have as the nation's President.

In considering which candidate to endorse, The Salt Lake Tribune editorial board had hoped that Romney would exhibit the same talents for organization, pragmatic problem-solving and inspired leadership that he displayed here more than a decade ago. Instead, we have watched him morph into a friend of the far right, then tack toward the center with breathtaking aplomb. Through a pair of presidential debates, Romney’s domestic agenda remains bereft of detail and worthy of mistrust.

Therefore, our endorsement must go to the incumbent, a competent leader who, against tough odds, has guided the country through catastrophe and set a course that, while rocky, is pointing toward a brighter day. The president has earned a second term. Romney, in whatever guise, does not deserve a first.

BOOM. That's it. Romney is finished. Shredded. Eviscerated by his own hometown. Unbelievable. Unbelievable.

What is amusing is that you sound hysterical!!!

No, I don't. But I can understand why you'd say that...you don't recognize reality.

Can you explain what affect you think the Trib is going to have on the absolute trouncing Obama's going to get in Utah? Do you really think Obama's going to win the state?

Romney Receives Endorsement of Orlando Sentinel.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Mitt Romney, who often grouses that he is simultaneously running against President Obama and the mainstream media, will be greeted upon his arrival in Florida on Friday by a headline with which he cannot quarrel: The Orlando Sentinel is endorsing him.

Four years after The Sentinel, central Florida’s largest newspaper, endorsed Barack Obama’s candidacy for president, the newspaper’s editorial page said Mr. Romney is the better choice this time.

We have little confidence that Obama would be more successful managing the economy and the budget in the next four years,” the editorial in Friday’s edition said. “For that reason, though we endorsed him in 2008, we are recommending Romney in this race.”

A little more than two weeks before the election, newspaper endorsements are steadily trickling in across the country. Both campaigns have spent considerable time trying to win endorsements, particularly from newspapers in battleground states, like The Sentinel.

The Obama campaign has assigned top advisers to talk with editorial boards, trying to win endorsements from the newspapers that supported his candidacy in 2008. Mr. Romney has also been meeting with some editorial boards during campaign trips. The campaigns are bracing this weekend for several newspaper endorsements to be released in key states.

I wonder if this will make the libtards hysterical...

The Trib is such a POS that hardly anyone in SLC who isn't a coupon clipper reads it anymore.

Their now dead message board (Trib Talk) banned anyone and everyone that wasn't a blood-shooting-out-the-eyes lolberal, to the point that they had tumbleweeds blowing through the forums and couldn't justify the waste of bandwidth....True story.

Obama for president - Tampa Bay Times

By many measures, the economy is improving steadily even if growth remains painfully slow. There have been 31 straight months of job growth, and more than 5 million private sector jobs have been created. The unemployment rate is down to 7.8 percent — not great, but the same as when Obama took office. The stock market has come back, new housing starts are the highest in four years and housing prices in Tampa Bay and other areas are rising. The financial industry is stable, interest rates remain low and corporate profits are healthy. There is still too much economic pain, but America is better off than most of the rest of the industrialized world.

No shock...The Trib is as far left a bundle of bird cage liner as you'll find anywhere.

in other words, you disagree with it.

that doesn't constitute being bird cage liner.

it's not like it's the new york post or anything.

Interesting how all of a sudden, the rw's ALL know everything there is to know about every single newspaper on the planet.
