Everywhere needed
YEARS ago when I used to spend summers with family in California, as a young boy, I distinctly remember that around West Covina, there were burrito fast food places that served the absolute BEST burritos I have ever had.

Basically, they had a variety of Mexican food and it was like fast food chain maybe, but I remember their "Red" & "Green" burritos the best.

For years I've tried to find the recipe to no avail. maybe the name of the place was The Green Burrito ?
Can't remember.

I know today there's places called The Green Burrito but that's Carl's Jr. locations and I'm almost certain it's not the same place. This was 40 years ago!

But anyone who lives in that area, if you have nay clue what place I'm referring to PLEASE tell me.
I'd consider going there again JUST to get more of those burritos!

Then again, in Southern California there could be more burrito serving fast food places than sand on the beaches in Miami Florida.

Green burrito is made with green chilis, red is obviously made with red chilis. New Mexico is the home of green chili, it's put in just about everything here. The first Hatch green chili shipments have gone out, everywhere is the smell of roasting green chilis.
Oh and Carl's was founded in 1941.......... in LA........

Leave a burrito in the fridge for a few weeks, and you can have a green burrito anywhere.

I used to go to a small Mexican ''fast food'' place for lunch.....they had red and green chile--green being hotter
and a great tostada ..chile came with flour tortillas
it seemed like authentic Mexican------mmmmmmmmmmmmgood!

They are affiliated with Carl's Junior in some places besides California. Or else they sold out the name and the franchise to Carl's.

I still prefer a traditional beef and bean burrito but for a taste of heaven.....

Leave it out of the fridge and save time.

I thought the OP was talking about spinach tortillas....

Not if it's McDonald's burrito. I suspect it would just melt, like McNuggets.

Really?! wow.
So it's actually possible that the Green Burrito place 40 years ago WAS Carl's Jr. Amazing.

I do know that there are The Green Burrito restaurant locations now outside of CA, unfortunately none in FLA

No, Carl's is west, Hardees is their eastern brand. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to Tex-Mex, okay, a huge snob, so Carl's is a definite no no.
