Federal agencies and experts warn that a historic wave of mental health problems is approaching: depression, substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder and suicide.
Nearly half of Americans report the coronavirus crisis is harming their mental health, according to a Kaiser Family Foundation poll. A federal emergency hotline for people in emotional distress registered a more than 1,000 percent increase in April compared with the same time last year. Roughly 20,000 people texted that hotline, run by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, last month. The coronavirus pandemic is pushing America into a mental health crisis

Despite the fact that Kaiser Family foundation is in fact a cabal of leftist political hacks, these findings are what anyone with a functioning brain stem could conclude via their intuition...That people disconnected from productivity and purpose would eventually develop mental health challenges.

Mayor Glenn Jacobs said on Friday that the Regional Forensic Center examined nine suspected suicide cases – eight of which are from within Knox County – in the past 48 hours alone.
